No I didn't thank you! Now just need some advice on the side stand.
Jordan Guest — 9 years ago
So I'm having leaking issues. It seems everytime I ride the ball joint starts getting loose. Any tips and really sealing up this pipe? Also if anyone had a side kickstand they recommend to get? Been looking around and having trouble finding something that fits.

This would be a great addition for my setup.
Jordan Guest — 9 years ago
Just curious about the pipe. How's the installation, power band, and all. Thinking about adding this to my 74cc airsal with 19 phbg.

Well so far it's purring like a well groomed Persian. No airleaks and ignition was set to 1.3mm. Yes I'm using stock pipe and that carb which I know I need to upgraded waiting for the cash. Thanks for the premix answer. Looked around and didn't see anything. Would you add more oil after the first tank? 25:1 sound right or should I just play with it.

So it's a new kit so I'm not really worried but had a soft seize today. What premix are you guys running. Was 32:1 on stock thinking 25:1 with this new kit? Running a 68 jet on 14.12 sha. Plug chops been nice a brown.

Just bought a kit and seeing If it's worth it to sell my stock parts or just keep them as a backup. It's a 78 B cylinder and is in great shape. With a 14.12 carb I was hitting 30mph all day. Piston has some black stains but is cleaned up and ran great. Rings have less than a 100 miles on them. I'll post pics if there's enough interest.

I had a hell of a time getting mine to run recently. I kept checking for spark and setting timing but it still wouldn't start even though it was all looking good. What finally worked for me was grounding the condenser to the frame and I found a small piece of metal that was stuck in one of the rotor grooves. Just the smallest problem can stop a moby from running well. The electrical is very f

So after replacing clutch now it won't start. I got it to fire up once and ran until I let off the gas. It has spark, compression, and getting fuel. Carb is 16.16 sha on a 70cc kit. Using 68 jet and trying 71 jet with same problems. The starter plate is engaging and engine turns over when I pull the clutch. Also has new plug b7hs and is gapped properly. Hopefully one of you can lead me in the

Put in a new three shoe clutch. Replaced because original was worn out. Now it will start up and run occasiasionly but only when I hold the starter lever down. When I let go the clutch disengages. Took out woodruff key to fit new clutch. Any ideas? I have spark, fuel, and compression. But no idle.

Thanks for the help. I'll check the magnets. Spark wire turned brown were it connects. Would that be a good sign of slipping? Seems like an arch happened to me. It is that high suppression kind.
Jordan Guest — 9 years ago
already done condenser now in its place. changed spark plug wire by using the ford cable you posted on mabacane. that brought my blue spark back but since then it acts like something is loose or misfiring. It surprises me that it acts like it wants to go for a second before crapping out.

its a three coil system with the kill switch cut out. ignition coil is just external condenser, ht coil, and plug.

Replaced plug, get it to idle, doesnt backfire anymore, yet it is still running like crap. Gap set, points set, timing reset over and over again. It will pick up some speed then it starts sounding like its four stroking and just putters at a walking pace. Sometimes it will kick forward like it wants to speed up but will stop kicking forward and four stroke again. idk what to do anymore? any idea

Thanks I'm used to French bikes didn't know what a woodruff key was. There's no DIY solution to the Starter clip. Just hate to wait.

So I got a three shoe to replace my two shoe that wasn't grabbing the starter plate. Have a few problems though. Got the old one out and the crank shaft has a notch on it to fit into the original clutch. I haven't seen this on anything I've looked up. Is this normal. Do I just dremel the clutch to fit this notch? Also lost the starter plate ring. Any success using a coat hanger to

Yea new stronger bonding strap to intake, points and gap set correctly. Cleared exhaust with stove cleaner. Bought a new plug today. It must just be the timing yet I've set it at least 10 different times now. Points are in great shape too and magneto seemed fine last I checked. I'll look at it again when I'm home and put that new plug in. I know it's probably electrical.

If anything I was thinking down jet. And yeah condenser is under tank. Took out old and plugged the hole. The backfiring happens so little almost makes me think it's a blow by. Just a pain because I have to bump start everytime I try to tune it.

replaced condensor. same problems
Jordan Guest — 9 years ago
just tried reseting the timing once again. 1,5 is what im shooting for. It almost acts like its not getting enough gas. It will jerk foward and then cut out to almost four stroking occasionally i can get it to run if i stick on the throttle. It idled great and everytime i give it throttle it picks up for a second and then putters out like its fourstroking. doesnt die and keeps idling.

Had this thing running for a good while then all of a sudden it started to have problems. It would ride great for a while then all of a sudden it lost most of its power and was puttering along at very low speeds and having the occasional backfire. Mostly from the carb. So, replaced spark plug wire, condenser is fairly new, new grounding strap, and reset timing many times. I can get it to idle a

This is all for a 1978 50v mobylette av7.Freewheel. Or a place to replace it. Was confused if the 16 tooth on treats would work.Engine drive chain. 418 size I believeCirclip pliers that work on variator. Everything I try breaksTiming tool
Jordan Guest — 9 years ago
I don't see how that would work on a Motobecane with the light. Need like an adjustable piston stop. Also still looking for a place to get the chain or freewheel. Also like clean magneto cap and rubber lock.
Jordan Guest — 9 years ago
oh also looking for a flywheel cover with rubber piece and a 418 chain. This is all for 50v mobylette. Also looking for a good freewheel and horn switch. soooooo.....Timing toolPlug wireFreewheelFlywheel cover + rubber piece418 chaingood horn switch(dont use engine kill, spring broken in my switch so horn gos off randomly and i want to use it)all for a moby 50v
Jordan Guest — 9 years ago
Willing to pay for any timing tool that works with motobecane. handmade or not. something i could dial in .1mm range. want a more accurate way of setting my timing. If anyone has a good spark plug wire that would be great too.

For future bearing pulling. Harbor freights have a set that works great and their return policy works even better! Only need it once
Jordan Guest — 9 years ago
Sorry didn't mean to post twice damn iPhone. Well rebels suggestion was the same. To see if the engine or something else is causing your pedal resistance. This probably won't cause your bike to work as it Seems like a usual moby and they always have troubles. But just read up on the wiki and mabacane website. Just about everything has been covered once before. Between that and rebel how
