Did you hone the cylinder or the compression was fixed without it?

Hmm wonder if it's the seals and the whole engine is due for a rebuild...
Didn't try cleaning the carb, although it is probably due for one. The comp tester is from Amazon. I also tried covering the spark plug hole w/ my finger and the compression is still super low
So all of a sudden my Puch wouldn't start and after doing all the tests (fuel, spark, compression) I found out that it has very low compression and wouldn't turn over.I replaced the piston rings and gaskets, however it didn't help and the compression is below 20psi. It did start once when I was pedaling really fast and "dropped" the clutch.Am I missing something? Is it due
Hey guys,So my Puch wouldn't start again. My guess is, it's probably electrical because all of a sudden it would have a hard time starting and now wouldn't start period. This happened completely out of the blue. I have a new spark plug, wire, etc.Is there anyone in Manhattan who can fix my Puch or a repair shop? I really don't want to drag it out to Orphanage in Brooklyn. Thanks
Linda, thanks for your response. I think i found the problem, looks like the choke plate is getting stuck and doesn't go up all the way. When i pull it up all the way by hand, i think the moped is back to its original speed. What should i do? Spray some WD40 inside to lubricate it?thanks again
hmm haven't in 2 years since i bought it which was fully restored at that point. When I ride it and it tops out, it makes a loud knocking noise like "drrrrrrr"if i need to clean out my exhaust, what's the easiest way to do it? sorry guys, new to the whole repair thing.
Checked the slack and that's all good. Still it doesn't reach top speed for whatever reason. It's like, it tries to run faster, but just dies off. Could i have screwed anything up when changing the throttle cable? inside the carb?thanks for the help!
Guys, thanks for your responses. I tweaked the slack as much as I could and it seemed to fix the problem. Will really know on the ride home from work on the streets of Manhattan. Will keep you posted.thanks again
Hey guys,I changed my throttle cable yesterday. Everything seemed to go fine, started up right away. When i ride it, the cable seems to be sticking a bit and the moped is running way slower. doesn't accelerate past a certain point. Any ideas what I did wrong?thanks for all the help!Alex
Guys, thank you so much for all the suggestions. Since i live in NYC, i might have to wait till Sunday when i can take my Puch to Jersey and start playing around with it in my parents garage. Thanks again for all the help so far, really helpful stuff and i genuinely appreciate it!
So if i just take the carb off, take it apart and clean it out then it should solve the problem? Sorry for the stupid question, just new to all this.
Hey guys, i was riding my Puch the other day and all of the sudden it just cut off while i was on it. I just to start it back up several times and nothing. Has plenty of gas in it, but not sure why it doesn't start up. Any ideas? My first thought was to replace the spark plugs, but i thought maybe i was missing something. Thanks for the help,Alex
