IIRC, there was a guy selling adapter plates for Tomos that allowed for lifan motors. I don’t think it went anywhere.I agree with Jbot. People love new parts and things but this kinda ruins the spirit of the moped.

Tires get balanced, rims get trued.I’ve spoked and trued wheels before. It’s a time consuming process but it’s worth it. Once that’s done tires can be balanced.I think most folks don’t worry too much about it on a common moped that’s not hitting high speeds. On a faster motorcycle or race bike a wheel that’s off will become very noticeable that somethings off.

It’s a 45 year old machine. It has wear and tear from normal use. You won’t see those numbers without a fresh top end, adjusted breaks, aired up tires, regreased bearing etc. Rider weight is a variable as well. There are many factors here.Just be glad the mileage is as good as it is and enjoy it. 🤷♂️

Yep, it’s called an overlay or cheater sprocket.

You could put a 14:14 carb on it if your going to drill out the intake. That’ll help with a little more power. A pipe will help with a stoke bike. If I remember the headers and exhaust port size are pretty restrictive. Widening the exhaust port and raising it slightly will help get rpms up. Mlm sells a hack and weld header for the Morini if I remember right.Edit:https://www.treatland.tv/MLM-morini

Pretty heartwarming to see. Excellent work!

Interesting. Kokusan has been around a long time. I know from experience that Hodaka and Yamaguchi, along with a few other Japanese motorcycles used kokusan ignitions.

Ohh hey! I made that port map years ago. I believe it was 1hp motor also. It was the first and only Moroni m01 I’d ever worked on so I wasn’t able to compare with other m01 port maps.

Assembly lube shouldn’t go into a two stroke top end. Ever. Just use two stroke oil when assembling and soak the gaskets before installing.

Looks shot to me

It’s the round bullet style. It needs to have the hole for the key though.

I bought a Chinese mini lathe about a year ago and rebuilt it with tapered bearings and added grease zerks above the bearings. As far as I’m concerned it’s one of the most important tools I have in my shop. Don’t know how I lived without it. Just wish I had room for a larger one.Tweaker doesn’t know what he’s talking about.
