Also i can't seem to idle off stand, i'm assuming i need new clutch springs? (I think the clutch shoes don't bounce back after they engage)

I have a stock Si (Apart from 13.13 carb and a drilled out intake). I want to get a decent 50cc kit (BC moped laws), A decent pipe and probably the polini variator. The area I live is a little hilly, so i'm looking for a setup that'll allow me to climb a little now and then without shitting the bed.Would appreciate some input as when it comes to kits and pipes I can't tell what will

They definitely aren't as stiff as the Si shocks that's for sure. I like these better for sure. I have everything working great on this machine but i can't seem to get it to idle when it's off the stand. Any ideas?

do you have the little piaggio logo thing that sits on top of the forks?

I would like a duct-tape throne. Quote?

The trick was cutting off the grande tube and welding the si tube as a replacement. I work at a shop so the work welding wasn't and issue at all.

Sanded/painted and welded all weekend :D.

Would you recommend a simo circuit for a stock bike though? Even though Kevin had bad luck?
Dangeresque Too? — 11 years ago
The Simoni? Or tecno?
Dangeresque Too? — 11 years ago
Also building a vespa engine here, drilled out my intake today but need to file the window. Looking at getting a tecno circuit, fully stock engine, also getting the polini speed control variator. Good choices?

I did it last week, worked wonders on my greasy vespa case.Be sure to wipe it down with a damp cloth afterwards, the soap leaves little white dots in most places, no big deal.

I did the vinegar thing, left it for a week and it was like new, but after filling with pre mix immiedatly rust formed by the ton, any ghetto ways to seal?
Dangeresque Too? — 11 years ago
Not much to say but seeing someone stoked on owning their first ped is rad. PICS!

So the rubber seal on my petcock which im guessing is 30 years old disintegrated upn removal, ive ordered a new petcock get up however instead of sealing the clean tank (used the vinegar method) i just filled it back up with fuel. It sat with fuel in it for 2 days but i had to empty it due to the leak.Should i put something in my tank in the meantime before i can fill it again? I'm scared of

So i obtained a replacement engine for my Vespa Si, unlike my old engine i think this might have been in another vespa, it has 3 coils though, can i still use it? Do i have to mess with the coils? theres also a condensor on the outside rather than inside.
Dangeresque Too? — 11 years ago
Yeah about that.
Dangeresque Too? — 11 years ago
I'm not sure about this, it could be true but i just filled mine with coke and let it sit for a day and poured out the most amazing mix of carbon flakes and whatever else was in it.
Dangeresque Too? — 11 years ago
Ok, to unseize the engine i filled it with brake fluid via the spark plug and let it soak for a day, im convinced that the engine is hydrolocked by the brake fluid, i guess i'm going to have to find a way to get it all out. Does this make sense?
Dangeresque Too? — 11 years ago
I considered that, but even with the spark plug barely screwed in its stupidly hard to move.
Dangeresque Too? — 11 years ago
Not starting..But 2 days ago i couldn't move it at all. After giving it a 24 soak in lubricant i can get the crank to turn perfectly when i don't have the spark plug in.Spark plug in/compression handle down thing hardly budges.1980 Vespa Si

Will do.
