Just got my MLM pipe in. Now time to start putting everything together. I picked up the 60CC cylinder kit from Treats also. Still running the stock carb.Couple of questions for you guys1. Will I be able to get away with the stock carb and a K&N air filter that is on the QT50 now? If so, what range of jets should I try to pickup?2. Is it in my best interest to get a different carb? Which one an
What gauge wire do I need to pick up?
Britchez.. are you still willing to sell me a set of these forks?
britchez, I'll send you an email in a few days. Holding out a little longer that someone has a yellow set.
Yellow would be awesome, but I'll take what you've got.
What would make the front wheel on my QT50 wobble? I don't think it is the rim; it looks true. It feels like it is coming from the axle, but I don't know how. Everything is put together correctly. I did take the front fender and supports off, but the swing freely anyway.I'm out of ideas.
and as sson as I post this I notice a new brand of 14" on treats.
Treats, 1977, and a handful of other random sites are all sold out of tries to fit my QT50. I've seen a couple sites listing them for $45/tire but that is double what I'm used to paying for them.1977 said they would have some in stock in August. I'm just trying to get them ASAP. Does anyone have a rec of where to look?
it wasn't there last night.
I need a QT50 exhaust pipe.
Ha...my dad's name is John.Dad?
Camping this weekend and planning on bringing my QT50 muffler up to toss in the fire to burn out the junk inside. I've read the wiki, but was wondering if anyone could pass along any tips or infomation that I need to know beforehand. Thanks!
Got it from the Shred Shed a few months ago.
I don't think the "Follow Topic" feature is working.
- I got the jets at a Honda motorcycle shop. They couldn't look up the part by the model number of the carb, but were able to by make/model of the bike.- Please forgive my ignorance, isn't pulling the air filter off essentially a different way of getting the same result? I had fourstroking issues without a filter in the box too. I haven't run it without the box yet.
^^yep, got me on mopeds and instagram
http://dadsaretheoriginalhipster.tumblr.com/post/3509763326/your-dad-rode-a-moped-before-you-did-and-then-heYour dad rode a moped before you did. And then he stopped because he realized that mopeds are the training wheel equivalent for motorcycles. Training wheels won’t get you laid. No honey dip is going to stroll up to a moped and tell you how it gave her hot pants. That’s why your dad got a mot
The shop had two jet sizes 67.5 and 65. I tried the 67.5 and the bike still fourstroked. Went down to 65 and appears to be fixed.I will investigate further this weekend.
There should be a speedo cable running from the front wheel hub to directly under the speedometer. If there is, check to see if that grey cable actually has a cable inside. If not there is your problem. If so, you can take the wheel hub end of the speedo cable, put it in a drill and spin it slowly. If it moves the display, the problem is at the hub, if not the problem is at the display.I've ha
No electricity at all. Is there a cable connected to the underside of the box?
I'm having four stroking problems and need to down jet. Well, the shop manual says the carb should be a Mikuni 3L501. Mine appears to be a Mikuni 4L400.My questions are:Is this carb stock to the bike?Is there a difference in jets between the two models?Generally speaking, how far down should I go to correct the four stroking issue? (the current jet size is 70)Thanks in advance
I just replaced the actual filter on mine. This site has been pretty helpful restoring my QT50 back to stock: http://www.mrcycles.com/fiche_section_detail.asp?section=2761&category=Motorcycles&make=YAMAHA&year=1984&fveh=74
When it was stolen, it wasn't running. But that is another issue. Roomate left the garage open and it was rolled right out. Thanks for the tips. I'll check ebay first before stripping out the cylinder.
My Yamahopper was stolen and recovered earlier this month. I went to pick it up from the impound and the key was not in the ignition. What is my best option? I assume I will have to get a whole new ignition. I've been emailing any MA users that have been parting out yamahoppers with no response. Is there a particular aftermarket ignition & key combo that will plug right in?
What do you mean by slight adjustment...did you make it run hotter?
The bike will start and run great. Periodically will just die while riding. Most of the time it will start right back up but sometimes it wont. It has a hard time starting at night when the air is cool.Any suggestions? Thanks!
