Yeah, you're probably right.
As stated I'm not looking to mass produce these. It's Shane's design from the wiki. I had success printing a couple for my ebike and I thought if some people here wanted to try it out, I could print a few for them. This isn't a "WTB: armchair production" advice thread.
I printed one in PLA and hit it with a hammer, made some marks on the surface but no cracking, its pretty durable. Ignore my initial reaction, it was only taped together and I wasn't expecting the tape to come off. (tape didnt come off in my test before the video)It would probably be like 30-35 shipped depending on how much shipping is.
This one is PLA+ figured a fairing isn't load bearing or heavy use enough to warrant anything stronger. It's supported by the headlight setup in my... setup.Yeah if I was to make a bunch I would go nylon, but doesn't seem to be much actual interest in them so far. Also, I have 3 printers, so if needed I can do each half on separate printers reduce the time that way. Also also going to
Not really looking to make a bunch of these just seeing if anyone wanted one, made this for my fat tire E-Bike, so pretty low impact riding.
I think they have differing strengths and weaknesses. I think impact-wise this is probably more impact resistant, this isn't going to break if you drop it.They have carbon fiber infused filament but I haven't tried any. It costs more and is more wear and tear on the printer.
This is after using some wood putty in the creases, sanding, using filler primer, sanding, more primer, sanding etc. Still only primer though.
Any interest in these? Its modified a little from the STL in the wiki but not much.At my quality settings they take about 3-4 days to print. This is fresh from the printer:
I got a rolling frame in Sacto, CA you'd have to pick uit up or arrange shipping though.
might as well since you already did on the moped.
I'd take off $5 if you can pick it up.
Side covers, gas cap, handle bars, and the "controls" = $1999.98 shipped to your door.
You got weak negotiation skills paul silva, its $550 now!
Nice, he'll be better for it than me.
I got a pair of white. $500 shipped to your door?
Trade for a bravo project (13mm ported intake, 13.13 Carb with Hi-Flo filter, kinetic CDI conversion, newish blue paint job, new tires, ran before taking apart for paint job like 5 years ago) and a moby 50v roller (pully/clutch and pipe are gone)?
You would have to make it worth my while, what are you offering?
I'd use a motobecane 50v frame, its a lot lighter (remove rear fender), the tank has a support inside it for more stability if you cut it open and put batteries inside (still weld a frame brace though) , I think the swingarm would be better than a puchs for a hub motor (or better yet use a pug 103's swingarm), and it has the triangle toolbox space for a controller and whatnot.
Threw whats left up on ebay.LINK HERE
The model name is 50v and the engine is an av7
