Hi Yeah, the other photos are a little older. The bike originally had a 505/1A Motor and I swapped it with a D shortly after repainting. The first image with the Sachs decals is the most current
Top speed with myself (120lb rider) has been low 40s.
This is for a reliable, running Sachs Prima G3 2-Stroke Moped with the fastest 505/1D motor and some light mods. The bike has been ported, re-geared, and includes a new performance pipe all done to increase top speed performance and torque off the line compared to stock. Some of you may remember this bike as it was stolen from me about 7 years ago and went missing for over 10 months. MA helped me t
cool. email me with these images attached and we'll talk. Beyond these images i'd need the overall dimensions of the email@example.com
I don't personally have a vinyl cutter... but i have 2 connections to people who have them so if you want to get something also made I can help you do that too.
Hello all, I spent some time recreating decals for my Sachs G3 after it was stolen and my paint was ruined. They turned out pretty great, so I though that if anyone out there was in a similar situation and needed vintage graphics remade digitally or custom made graphics for your bike, I'd offer up my help for a little pay.I also can help with things like logo creation for your next gang ;)Don
Thats basically what i figured out too, it's really low though, so it just seems to be in a really awkward place :/
I met a guy out at MopedGP this year who had a similar, but slightly different Hummel in LA, if you're out there man, good luck getting your girl running too!Run down of features and explanation of my 1957 DKW Hummel Type 101 moped restoration project I've been working on. This project began 3 years ago, when I bought the bike on craigslist at an Estate sale after the owners passed away
Damn, that bike looks so clean! Wish It were closer
Looking for a running Towny to buy as a gift for my SO. He had one as a child and would like to find a runner to surprise him with. Any leads would be greatly appreciated :D
Thanks for this pic... I just found an interesting honda ruckus forum where a guy did a pretty nice modified version of the sidecarrier thing like this pic and seems like it could be a pretty good option that allows for easy/quick removal and attachment.
Yeah, I actually looked into trying to find one of these sidecar baby carriers, but they stopped making them a few years ago... haven't been able to locate one anywhere nearby me or on ebay
My friend's shop is in North Hollywood, so according to google it's about an hour away? He has an suv that he could transport it in if you would be at all willing to loan it for measurements.... i dont know how long you'd be willing to part with it either. What kind of ped do you have?
ok... is it the same rule for a two-wheeled sidecar? I've been investigating that route as well.
Thanks for the support! yeah, I'm definitely committed to making it happen regardless of its comebacks. My friend is a really good machinist, so I'm confident we can work it out as a team.Any tips or advice for someone going into this with fresh eyes?
I don't really mind the work involved... this is something I've been looking to do for a while now and I think it would be a fun and worthwhile project especially since I have a machinist friend who is willing to work on it with me... also the dog is over 30 lbs... too heavy for a backpack for me personally.I appreciate your opinion... just looking for people who might actually help me w
He's over 30lbs.... too big for a backpack. The picture must make him look smaller than he is... he's no cat.
So I want to build a removable sidecar (possible out of a used keg) for my G3 for my dog, Hobbes (see attached picture) and I am currently in Michigan. I have a friend who is willing to help me build one in his shop in Los Angeles... but the problem is getting a G3 or similar framed moped to take measurements from and maybe test a prototype or two with out in LA...Is there anyone out there in LALA
Let me know if the file doesn't work for some reason. I also have an ai file here on dropbox:https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/39304175/Sachs%20Decals%202.aisvg file:https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/39304175/Sachs%20Decals2.svgMade these myself from photos and measuring G3s to replace my own decals after they got stolen
Thanks guys! I reached out to Kenny J and think I'll be going that direction. He's a tinkerer and likes projects so i think this bike will work out just fine for him after a little cleanup. Plus I have no time nor vehicle to drive to Mississippi over a ~$400 bike, so being in Ohio is the sweet spot for me :)
Holy crap! I figured there was no way this post might find something! How much you think you'd want for it? If you got it pretty cleaned up and running, how much would you take for it? the closer I could get it from you ready to ride the better.
Located in Detroit, but my family member lives in Ohio so anywhere around he Midwest would be awesome
So looking for this bike which my family member used to have as a kid and told me he wishes he had never sold it. Would love to find another one for him as a surprise... Anyone around here know where I could find one?
Hey Thanks! The DKW is very near completion... I'm crazy excited to be able to ride it for the first time since I picked it up 2 years ago.
