Hey all garelli pro'sI've got a 65cc speedkit from Italy on my garelli super sport XL 1980. WIth 15-15 Dell'Orto carb. and expansion chamber exhaust.Top speed is ok, being 45.Only problem is acceleration. Plug chops are normal.I heard that with this kind of upgrade, the clutch springs need changed so the engine revs higher instead of bogging on take off like what currently happens.H

I would do a combo. Put it on the coals in a grill, rotating it every so often like Matthew did. knock out some carb after its cooled. Then the next day, spray it inside with brake cleaner well, then soak it in oven cleaner. comments on this, as I'm in the process of doing it...

hmm I don't know the strictness of the law in canada...Do they physically check it during registration? If not, then go for it, normal police man won't know what to check if you get pulled over...as long as you aren't doing 55. lol

I hear in California they do random horse power test. If not, who gives a shit, register it as a 49cc haha

Not sure about a Tomos, but I installed a kickstand on a Puch, and the kickstand required bending, on the black frame part, so the arm would bend more horizontally and make the bike lean more. Worked Perfect.Try that?Andy

Yes the Polini kit OWNS--fast, reliable, easy to install. doesn't get any better

OK...So does it come with *Everything* to complete the job of putting the boost bottle on? I saw you sell the drill bit for $5... So you drill the hole in the intake manifold, mount the boost bottle tube line connector in the manifold hole, then attach the boost line to the mount (screw on) ?

LOL I don't think he is trying to prank us:0 The timing screw isn't timing for the carburator, so no, it has nothing to do with when-the-fuel-goes-into-the-engine.Here it is:---*When the Spark Plug Sparks!*---

One fin half-broke-off? I say no, it doesn't matter, as I am missing an entire fin that got cracked off.
Andy Kochvar — 18 years ago
You turn it to the right to advance or retard the timing??
Andy Kochvar — 19 years ago
Haha maybe you are right Josh! Once it has new shocks, front and back, it would be able to handle the speed and accelleration. RIght now it bottoms on by just sitting on it. Talk to you later,Andy

Guys go for the Polini 64cc kit if it's compatible on your bike. Man is it smooth, fast, and extremely easy to start.

It's very simple to check----disconnect speedo cable from the speedometer only. Does the cable spin while you ride? If so, your speedometer is broken. They seem to break somewhat easy? Atleast mine have.

Not in PA. Motorcycle Permit(i hear it is VERY easy to get), or car license.

Same here--Make sure your taillight AND brakelight (turn signals, since you have them) are functioning perfect and that will limit you from getting pulled over.

lol I use Pennzoil Two Stroke Oil. ( only for my speedkit breakin) after 200 more miles im switchin to AMSOIL Dominator Two Stroke Racing Oil 50:1

Did you have to fabricate or anything like that? Or did you just bolt it onto your mineralli v1?
Andy Kochvar — 19 years ago
Yes it does! put a new performance clutch in that puppy and race
Andy Kochvar — 19 years ago
Yes, my snark calls for 25:1 as well, but i do 50:1 with just "Two Stroke Engine Oil" seems to work well.
Andy Kochvar — 19 years ago
Because of incorrect timing usually in the flywheel magneto.

Thanks nick. I will head over there tomorrow. i will bring my piston, cylinder, and head along too. Thanks,Andy
Andy Kochvar — 19 years ago
So the arrow on the piston is supposed to point "UP"? Are you sure? can anyone else justify this

I'm about to go file down my head with this little metalic file because it looks a little warped and bent, very LITTLE but enough to not have good compression with the cylinder. Any suggestions about this?
Andy Kochvar — 19 years ago
I did rebolt the head on/off a few times to see how it looked in there. I did the "X" technique of torqing the head bolts on. The cylinder IS all the way back, and does not leak in between the rest of the engine (transmission etc) and the cylinder. Only between the base cylinder and head. It has a strong spark, every time, just installed a new spark plug. Spark plug is wet and oily which

So i ordered and recieved my 60cc speedkit. Exhaust, 15-15 carb, correct size manifold, base cylinder, head, piston, rings, circlips wrist, bearings, and all of that. I put it all together Correctly. "with the arrow on the piston facing towards the exhaust" I then torqued it on 7-10 lbs and there was a lot of air hissing out between the base cylinder and head. I DO have the thin aluminu
