Magneto is putting out voltage but no spark to plug. Not enough voltage? New coil, next will be new spark plug wire. Could CDI/magneto be out of timing? Wouldn't it spark anyway? Thanks all,

I remember someone putting his pistons in the hot lye tank over the weekend with the block, etc. Come Monday no pistons. Aluminum is fairly reactive with acid and base (lye). Keep an eye on it.bb

Has anyone been successful at stopping the regular, if not continual oil leak from the output shaft? I don't mind a self-oiling chain but it slings oil everywhere and drips.

Have you looked closely at a real top tank model? Some welding or brazing is required for the mounting points. A real steel tank is available but be prepared to do some real work.bb

Has anyone modified a TOMOS to use a threaded chain tightener? The system works "barely" OK. One side tightens but the other loosens.Much involved other than welding on a plate with threads? Which other brands have been successful?tnx bb

Also, make certain that there is coverage for uninsured/ under-insured drive. You are more likely to need the compensation in case of collision. There are still a lot of people out there who get by with no insurance or even licencebb

there are better bulbs available. Watch the watts. More than 45 and your turn signals will perform poorly. You can put a real nice 60 Watt bulb in there and see great but no blinkers at idle if you have only the magneto as power source ie no battery.I found an automotive bulb at the parts store, Phillips 9003, a halogen bulb which with minor mods to the connecting wire , gave great light. 55/

Why do you assume they are noobs? I agree that they are asking novice questions and am bothered and bored by them. but why think that there is a nefarious motive behind it? Where is the profit?
