I know I need a key for my cap, but I have no idea which key it uses. How do I find out?
So yeah,.. I haven't had a chance to dig out my Ciao or motor parts yet, but yesterday my buddy sends me a pic of a Grande at a swapmeet and I told him to grab it for me.Cleaned the carb, new petcock (one on the bike's nipple was snapped off), new fuel line, poured some gas in, and it fired on the first try.I rode it 35 miles today without a hiccup.Holy shit guys, I'm back!
Like so many people, life got in the way, and I stopped playing around with mopeds for the last several years. But I'm back, I'm excited, and I have more disposable income. So let's rebuild a dumb Ciao!I am so out of the loop these days, it's crazy. But I cant wait to ride my bike again!
There is no debate when a Ciao is involved. You first must get it, and then it will win your heart.

Still cigarette free, still vaping, 0 nicotine now though. This is my new setup, but I'd Luke to ditch the battery for a mech mod.Itaste 134 variable wattage with a Russian 91% rebuildable atomizer/tank.
Apparently there's a 38mm DR version out there too, but I don't think it's available in the states. Unless this is that one and they consider it 50cc? I guess that would make sense..
Whoa, wait, what? I've never seen the 41mm DR before! Has that been available long? I wonder what kind of performance it gives.
About the only Vespa engine bit swapping that won't work is the TFR USA crank. It is longerand narrower on the snout, so variators won't fit, and the stock clutch wwon't fit on a Vespa crank. So aftermarket crank=vespa variator/clutch, stock crank=stock clutch. The Cdi will fit either crank though.
Yeah, I paid $25 for my Grande and had it running after an hour.
Damn. I thought you were talking about weed stems. :(
Thanks ya'll. Now that I know a few models to look for, I'll start the hunt..
You know me so well, yet I hardly know you at all...
I have a project I'd like to get started on one of these days, bit before I can really get started, I need to decide on an engine. I'd like a nice BIG air cooled 4 stroke single, and I thought. Suzuki Savage/Boulevard engine would be perfect, until I actually looked online and realized they're belt drive, when I need a chain, and knowing nothing about the bike, I don't know tha
He's like that abusive girlfriend you had out of high school. Such a Bitch, but the sex was great.
Yes! Cut out the rust, make patch panels, weld in place, seal tank, bodywork and paint.
Strap it under the trailer! Haha
"additional girlfriend" lol
This is fucking amazing. Do you want to adopt a new 26 year old son?
While not a big fan of Rucki, probably more due to the scene than anything else, I can dig some scoots. My first bike was a stolen-used in a "high speed chase"-wrecked-caught on fire-recovered and impounded 97 Yamaha Riva Razz 125 I bought at a police auction for $10. I rode it for a few years, ghetto as Fuck and dirty as hell, until I got my fist moped. Then a month or so ago my dad pic
Waste of a Bus. At least a Fiero died too.
God I hate those things. I'd take an mk1 MR2 or a Porsche 914 over them any day.
Just a little side note, the shop I got this from supplied large 6'x6'? Granite slabs to a engine rebuilder here in town for checking heads.
I've been dying to get a small lathe to build/modify moped and car parts, as well as help with my other hobby, building model cars and scratch building an antique motorcycle from brass and copper stock. Eventually I'd love to get into model engineering and live steam engines, but that's a looooong way off. Pipe dreams are the best.
I'd say that was a good call. Looks almost identical to this Atlas.
Carriage! That's it! Atlas would make a lot of sense, as the tool in it now says Atlas MFG. I never even put 2 and 2 together. Thanks. Now to refurbish, collect tools, and make some room....
