Check that spark out is it blue and bright? Take the plug out and ground it on metal, like rest it on the head fins and kick it over a few times. If not strong it could be a number of things like ignition coil or plug wire/boot, bad ground.Start with the basics before shelling out cash for a new stator or points. Spark, fuel , compression .

It has a centrifugal starter clutch so the binding is likely the clutch engaging and trying to turn the crank. You can't really hurt it I started mine by just rolling down a hill most times.

I have a complete blue 71 that is very restorable but has no title. Planning to sell. Just north of Richmond va. Can get it running if I have a clear weekend to go through it.

The airbox cover is one part that everyone needs they tend to be pricey. As far as the gasket grey rtv gasket goo will work . Honda calls that the L cover gasket might want to search around. Bike bandit and Honda parts direct use to have some parts for nc50 express.

Looks like a cub that someone put a scrambler pipe on.

I had a similar issue with an m1 and found it was the case gasket was too thin. It was an aftermarket gasket set. Measure the original gasket thickness and match that as close as possible.

Check the sticker on the wiring harness. My ca102 is stamped with c100 you have to check the tail light and look for the front fake handle bar lights to tell the difference.

You can use the grey gasket goo in a pinch. Honda calls that the L cover gasket if you want to search for one.

I use an old Garmin gps that was pointless once I got a smart phone. Cut a steel plate for the mount and the GPS velcros on for easy removal if I park the bike or get in rain. It has a speed function with max speed and all that plus day and night mode GPS maps. I tend to get lost a lot so the map comes in handy

Does the tank have the awesome Indian face sticker or the lame Indian text?
James O'Bryan — 7 years ago
Love me some Indian and that one is clean clean. Now is a great time to sell in va since the shops closed down there are very few peds for sale compared to previous years. Plus it is spring so people are getting geared up for summer fun. Slap a v1 on that and it is a fast comfortable sexy ride. Are you near Richmond? I might scoop that up if the price is right.

With that crank and fresh bearings that m1 will love u long time. Do you still need the main gear? If so I will do some digging around this weekend. If you bought a gasket kit make sure the thickness matches stock for the case halfs . I used a kit once and it was too thin causing binding after together. If you plan to kit it's a good idea to case match those tiny transfers while you have it ap

I have some spare parts for m1 if you can't find any. I tend to hord my morini gear but willing to help ya out. Did u get the shaft out or do you have another case half?If you can't get what's left of that gear off I'd either cut it off with a cutting wheel by splitting it in half. Or drill and tap the upper side where it's flat and use a real clutch puller to pop it off.

A cheap heat gun on low will help keep from melting things, Especially the seals. Use a 2 arm puller that slides under what is left of that gear. I wouldn't use that ghetto puller that's prob what broke the gear. The pulling is done with the center bolt which u dont have. The outer bolts just thread in enough to hold while the center bolt lifts straight up. That puller taco'd the ge

The top speed on that model is around 20. To make it fast you will need a full carb intake pipe upgrade. I put all that on a 210 and top speed was 35. Had the homemade thyristor. Bitutbo ,14 puch intake and 15.15 sha.I'd find a newer bottom end with a single spring clutch and the harness plus electronics. Then use a slanted port top end and delete the decomp with a different head or plug it.

I rigged mine up with the green coil and the 2013 I think box. Swapped to the 2024 box and it is much better if your setup can handle the increase in top rpm. Gained about 5 mph with a more aggressive curve in the mids. The wiring was a bit tricky to get the brake tail and headlight to work. I used the original ignition coil as the light coil with 12v bulbs. If you are stock maybe use the lower rpm

I did a ignition swap on a 77 with the red brick setup to the newer style with the can ht coil. The harness had to be rewired as well they are quite different. I think the old style had a 3 prong black box and newer had 4 prongs. Not to be confused with the modern upgraded black box that includes the ht coil.

Last time mine sat in heavy rain the water got into the flywheel and corroded the coils. I tried the lazy method and sprayed it with wd40 and it fired right up. It has a moisture repelling effect. Next time I need to pull the flywheel I'll clean it up good but has run great since

The spring hooks to the back of the pad arm. Then around the post. Put half of the pad arm on the post then slip the spring on and finish pad arm install.

The only timing adjustment for these is the rotation of the stator. You will have a few mm of rotation each way when you loosen the stator screws. That missing coil might be lighting so it may run as is. Do you get spark?

Typically I freeze the bearing and heat the cases and still have to press them in. something ain't right.

Clutch is easy to rebuild typically the 2 needle bearings dry out or rust causing the clutch to not rotate around the crank at idle. So the clutch stays engaged. Also those 3 drive clutch mounts on the outer cover rust up preventing the shoes from engaging. Check that all your springs are intact.I have a set of nos start shoes 12shipped. had my 1 speed up to 35 with a few macgyver'd parts.

2002 civic has a cap n rotor or coil packs? Did it throw a check engine light? The codes might give an idea what's up. Do those have the non inference engines that don't explode when the timing belt goes? Sorry I'm a Mazda guy
