I don't know, I think I know a few mopeds that LIKE being choked...

I run at 100:1 on all my stuff; actually, I've been thinking of premixing in my oil injected peds and running with AMSoil's injector stuff too, for when the injector fails...

I've been running my Sachs 5051/D with a chunk missing from the skirt about the size of a dime for... 800+ miles now? works for me!

I have to say, it only took one small shard of wire in the eye before I started wearing safety glasses.Actually, if you already wear glasses, safety frames come with side shields and are lots cheaper than regular glasses' frames. go figure. (dunno about the lenses)

I have this one; more detailed pics available . I'm in Menomonee Falls, WI but I could meet you on a weekend in Rockford, IL.BTW it's not rusty; that's barn debris. I hadn't cleaned it yet for the picture.

I recommend the Moped Factory high compression head... lots of thought went in to them. Quality work.
Allen Long — 10 years ago
yeah, don't not run with a filter. My tank looks non-rusty, but I still see shit build up in there over time.

yep, I have used the hammer and screwdriver method with success. Make sure its a beefy screwdriver and carefully give it a whack. or five. Alternate between the two , it's a rather tight fit as you know.

that stuff wrecked my shit.. ran out of fuel a ways from home, filled with the can, and let it idle for a bit; idle went bad, fouled the plug -_- I had to walk it home D:

I could use a couple. I'll PM you.
Allen Long — 10 years ago
if it's running OK with the decomp, keep it. You have an "A" or "B" engine, look at the wiki for more info

soda blasting WILL remove paint, just want to make that clear - maybe not the setup as shown, but it works really well with a better ("professional") system. And the air compressor to drive it :-pI've soda blasted the head of my e50 and put it right back on, no problems. I probably should have painted it black to match though :-D
Allen Long — 11 years ago
those canned air things are really expensive - the cost to benefit ratio is really high; by the time you use enough of them to clean a carb, you would have enough money spent so that you could have bought a cheap air compressor.
Allen Long — 11 years ago
well, if nothing else, it will help other people when they search for it. :-)

I have no idea how your dad etched glass with a soda blaster...????Soda blasting doesn't work like sand blasting, at all. Whereas the sand blaster will throw the sand at the part, the sand tears / impacts / scratches away the surface in an abrasive process, soda blasting causes the sodium bicarbonate particle to impact the surface, deform, and peel away surface rust / paint. It is a non-abras

the whitewall kit will NOT work on the Gazelles. I tried it and the strip is wide enough that it comes all the way out to part of the tread on the tire D:

is there a loss of power when its doing the noise?
Allen Long — 11 years ago

i dunno about socal, but in IL I just went to a powersports shop that the state recognized as an appraiser / dealer and had mine appraised.
Allen Long — 11 years ago
that's fucking stupid... no way did they actually sell for that much. Post a link to the auction or I won't believe you.I paid $10 for mine, shipped.
Allen Long — 11 years ago
I'm sorry, George, but I have to call you out as a fool. Just because you failed at what is one of the easiest tires to install does not mean that they are poor quality. Your failure stemmed from your impatience, but mainly due to your tire irons; Savas do not require tire irons to install (actually, neither do Gazelles, but few people have the skill to install them without).
