I believe it’s an 81-82. No vin tag on the head tube and reading the vin under the seat is difficult at the moment. It is cdi though
Hey y’all, just got myself a hobbit for a good deal. Definitely needs some work but I’m okay with that. The ignition coil is missing entirely, and can’t find a direct replacement. What coil have you all used as a replacement? I’m okay with fabricating a new bracket if need be. And finally, there was no battery in it. This is the first moped I’ve come across in my short journey that had one to begi
I totally spaced on this, but I’m located in Mansfield Ohio. About an hour north of Columbus
2008 tomos st for sale. 44mm airsal kit, 15mm mlm intake, 15:15sha carb, jammer clutch, simonini calibrata exhaust from a Vespa cut to fit, mlm crossbar. Has LED headlight. Currently geared 27x22 but comes with 28t front sprocket. Chain and clutch have less than 25mi on them. Runs like a champ, I’m 260lb and it gets me to 45 with ease. Asking $1200 or reasonable offer.
So I bought some cheap 12v led lights for my turn signals. I know my a35 runs ac voltage. Lights work fine on a battery jump pack. Don’t work at all/barely lit on the bike. What rectifier are you all running to make leds work?
Soooooo……transmission fluid was low….I’m a doofus lol. Runs as good as it’s going to for a stock engine.
I know I haven’t messed with timing. But the bike does have 5k+ on the working odometer, so who knows if someone else did. The frame is a ‘99 but the clutch side is a 9 bolt instead of 11 so I’m not sure the year of the engine. Thinking and hoping it’s just clutch wear and I can redo the clutch material
Pretty slow all around. Maybe slightly better with the stock exhaust as far as take off goes. Once I get it to rev it runs better now though
Hey all, so I’ve got a stock a35. The only thing I’ve changed is putting a people’s pipe on it and up jetting to a 58 in the stock 14:12 sha. First gear feels decent, but when it hits 2nd, it just won’t pick up any revs until I go down a slight hill. After that it seems to hold decent on revs. Thinking my clutch is maybe not grabbing? Or my timing is off? Going to work on it Saturday afternoon, bu
I’ve got a guy at work I’m getting a Sachs from. Not totally sure on model yet, but already looking at upgrades. I don’t see on treats where there is an intake for the small reed kit aside from what comes with it. Did a quick search here and nothing seemed to turn up either. Is the short intake for the kit actually decent? Or should I look into making something myself?
How much to buy the magnum? I’m from the same city.
I’ve always like the idea of a slightly stretched moped, but haven’t paid enough attention to people who’ve done it. My next bike will be stretched a little bit. Maybe an inch or 2.
Never updated this thread. Exhaust was perfect on the stock cylinder. I bored the 12:12 out to 14:14 and upjetted of course. Pipe came in strong around 3k rpm. Wish I still had the bike. One of the Toledo riot guys bought it from me.

Nice. I’m actually in Lithia/Fishhawk area. I need a bike again
Who’s all in the Tampa Florida area? Or at least part of some fb groups? Tried to search it and got nothing. Currently no moped but would love to find a fixer upper. Thanks all!
Looking for anyone who is in the Tampa area that rides. Maybe a Facebook group or something? Sadly it seems that most people here think their 110cc kumo scooter is a “moped”. Anyhow let me know if your in the area.
Would like to trade my ttlx frame which has swing arm, forks and all original covers for a V1 clutch and exhaust. Will add pictures when I get home from work
You wouldn’t want to entertain the idea of any trades would you?
Anyone with an aftermarket setup they would like to part with?
As title states, looking for a new clutch. Burnt up mine. Let me know what’s out there.
Thanks for all the info guys. So far my carb experience is a sha 14:9(bored out) and a bing 15mm.
Just have to make the square a circle man
Do you have a link to that pipe? Also thank you both for the info. It does give me more to consider. Currently running a 14.9 that’s bored to 14.12 so the vm18 is a big step up
Awesome. That’s all I needed. Y’all rock.
Looking to get a vm18 for the winter build. My malossi too bad pipe is pretty awesome so far, but I am looking to port the stock cylinder. So, is a VM18 to much carb for my setup?
Im currently converting my motron which had 16in grimeca 5 stars(i believe thats what they're called). It has 12mm axles but had loose bearings. Not sure which bearing i would need as the 6201 bearings i had were way to small. I honestly just haven't measured the bore spacing to get new bearings coming. Until i figure something else out ill likely use the bearing cone as a spacer like yo
Just a test to hear the sound. Still need to brace it up properly but was to excited lol. Full performance review to follow once proper mounting is done
