I have my 504 1A doing 33 on good, flat roads with a little exhaust modification and new tires with good pressure. Though in all honesty, hill climbers they are not. Unless maybe you are super lucky and have the 505 1D (2.7 HP!)... but I doubt it.-fish

Thanks you guys. The color i believe to be original but not 100% sure as I have never seen a yellow one either. Also, I am not exactly sure if it is a 76 or a 77 though I think 77.it does need a few things... he was asking $350 but didn't seem like he was firm. I offered 260 cause thats all the cash I had. He really wanted $300 but I started to walk away after thanking him for showing it to me

So I picked this one up for $260... most I have paid for a non-runner so far...!imageurl!http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3440/3715306780_219d6c641d_o.jpgNeeds a few things of course... like bearings as dgma suggested above and some new tires/tubes probably. Also a switch on/off and a few bolts for the luggage rack as well as a rewire of the tail light.-fish

So I am thinking of going to check out a couple 77/78 Maxis that are not running. I haven't seen pictures but apparently everything is there and nothing has been done to them, completely stock. One has original (Yellow) paint the other has been painted over. He's asking same price for both... What would you pay (even though you havent seen them yet).200 - 400 ?thanks-fish

I have heard of the clutch issues (i have had none yet) but I also heard if you stay away from a 70cc kit, you'll prob be okay. Also, they have ~1.8 hp I believe so they are still decent. I love my Foxi GT... it turns heads and I haven't even customized it yet.-fish

Thanks Aaron. That dude was a little sketchy though no? Did he tell you the history of the ped, interesting to say the least. I was glad to get on the road after I got that thing loaded...--Also, gabby_d, my other Foxi is in great running shape, so I am up for a ride anytime.-fish

Bought this thing today... great wheels (zero rust) and engine is all there so I have something to go on when working on my 77 foxi. Also, I think this one I will strip to the frame, sandblast and see if I get inspired from there.. Could make a cool bobber/rat rod looking ped...

Thanks for the input you guys. I just checked it out and rode it. The pics make it look way nicer than it is... guess that's why so many get in trouble w/ Internet dating! ha haAnyway, mostly original but needs some work. I GPSed it and barely hit 27 on the flats. At a minimum, it needs: New steering bearings, new tubes (tires were pretty low), (tires would help too but the ones he has now ar

Anyone want to weigh in on this bad boy?I am going to look at it later today to get a better idea... I thin $700 is way too much but wont know more until I kick the tires a bit. What's your take?<url>http://inlandempire.craigslist.org/mcy/1236322327.htmlThanks in advance-fish

And so we are clear, by smaller, I mean width, not in length.

Yes, I have two chains, a drive chain and the pedal chain (opposite side). I was told a standard 1/8" bike chain would be fine for the pedal side but so far it is not fitting... seems it needs to be smaller?
fish — 12 years ago
Thanks for thinking I am a complete idiot "tdc"... I am aware I will have to cut it. The sprockets seem to be too thick for the 1/8th inch chain. I apologize for not being SPECIFIC enough....fish

Quick question about the pedal chain for the Foxi GTs... I was told by a guy at Myron's Mopeds that a standard 1/8th bike chain would do the trick but it's not fitting, what size pedal chain do I need? Anyone know the approx. number of links? Thanks!fish
