My cases are ported and I have a CDI timed at 18mm btdc on the flywheel. Polini reeds and my SHA 16.16 carb. It should be ripping. Could my piston be backwards? It's completely symmetrical and has no arrow or window on the intake side but pretty sure the locating pins were on the exhaust side
Unless you weld a 1in output on the end of it...That seems to be holding it back a bit. After all the work though its still bogging and not reaching anything near what its potential should be. Tried a number of jets from 66 to 75 in my SHA 16.16 and nothing is giving it the power it should have with the extra port.
Pulled everything apart last night and found that it has a third port that was covered up by a seal. Dremeled it and put it all back together. Turns out its a peugeot teknix 50cc 40mm aluminum cylinder kit. THe guy I bought it off modified the stock exhaust he had to fit the stock replacement kit. Gotta do some tweaking but this should definately boost the performance. Any thoughts on the best pip
it has a 1in output pipe, definetly modes. I'm running a 66 jet, 3 balls in the clutch and the heaviest doppler weights. I'm still bogging off the start though. The header looks stock with a flange welded on
My pipe is flange mounted to the cylinder. Is that any different than the second screw on set up?
Got the CDI and took weights out of the variator which made some minor improvements. I still feel like i've got quite a bit at the top end that isn't being used. I'll try the resistor plate
Here is the exhaust I'm comparing it to
My cylinder (attached to the bike in the picture) didn't have the 2mm lip on the exhaust like the second picture. Should I raise or widen my exhaust port? My pipe has some modifications to it, but would one run better than the other? Also my gearing is 56 x 11, should I run 52 x 11 instead? My bike is the U3 model and is struggling at getting up hills even with the bigger gearing. How can I g
I re-set the timing, cleaned the carb, messed around with the air intake and still can't figure out why it won't run clean.
disregard that last one. there just wasn't any gas getting through. the area around the petcock wasn't clear. now i've gotta work on the timing. Thanks for the help guys
I'm running new gas in it and I've checked the plug to see if its getting in there and it looks like it is. I would think its either electrical or compression then if thats the case but since I have spark I'm guessing its the last. there is definitely a decent amount of compression though because it squeeks air out when I put my finger over the spark plug hole. could it be that not
pretty solid spark. what seems to be good compression. it won't start at all. i'm working on cleaning out the carb right now figuring its probably fuel blocked somewhere
I am trying to fire up my peugeot sp103 for the first time in 2 years but am not getting it to turn over at all. I have spark and compression. any suggestions where to start?
Im running all stock with a dellorto 16 16 carb...Looking to upgrade my pipe. any suggestions?
Just got my 103 running again and its almost reaching full speed but there is a gunfireish noise that is happening when im on the throttle and its keeping me from reaching full speed and max power. Im guessing im either slightly off on my timing or its got a small blockage somewhere with gas. Any recomendations?
whats best for patching a micro leak in my gas tank? would jbweld epoxy work?
no worries i like the feedback. I got a new polini intake with when i bought my carb but i didn't upgrade my reed. I don't really know which direction to go with that exactly but right now mine are stock...
I have a new motor on my peugeot 103 sp..stock with a modified exhaust that is a little larger than the stock one. I also have a new dellorto sha 16.16 carb which I jetted to 72 after working down from 82 but I havent noticed much change in power or speed. What fine tuning can I do to get more out of what i've got?
any recommendations for a 103 sp oil gas ratio?
I had the same thing happen to my bike. I just got it back working last night by resetting my timing, fiddling with my wiring by disconnecting some and grounding some and reevaluating my fuel oil mixture. I think thats why my bike died in the first place. As for my carb i've got the same as you, a 16.16 sha and they sent me an 82 jet with it so i'm going to rejet tomorrow. good luck
SUCCESS! im psyched...I tightened up the flywheel all the way, unhooked the brown and grounded the yellow and she's running. As i get to top speed though it seems like the timing is a little off so i'm gonna try to get it perfect. thanks for the help and let me know if you've got any advice
I pulled the brown wire and got it to turn over for just a millisecond but it wont do it again...I also checked my ignition coil and spark plug using a 6 v battery and I got spark so I can rule that out. any more ideas?
Just got a new motor and after switching everything over, I have no spark... any ideas on where to start? I've been trying to get my ped going for 2 months now and have had no luck
I'm having the same problem with mine and even replaced the carb. let me know if you have any luck.
anyone have any tips on attaching a new dellorto sha 16.16 carb to a stock peugeot 103? or how to directions?
I actually just ordered a dellorto 16.16 sha carb so I'm pretty pumped. Everything should be in order soon enough. I was having way to many troubles with the gurtner so this should help. any recomendations on reed types and where I can pick them up?
sweet thanks for the feedback
I'm looking to order a dellorto 16.16mm sha carberator for my 78 peugeot 103sp and I'm trying to figure out what size jet i'd need. Everything else on it is stock. any suggestions?
