Now I know its not technically a ped (even though a 50cc is classified as a ped in the UK), does anyone know the headtube dimensions of a Cub 50?
Does anyone know anywhere that sells 3.0 x 12" tires in whitewall flavor?
Yeh...try finding one of them in the UK though that isn't silly money!
Hmmm, maybe I should just chop up a C90 or something instead.
Still no one with advice on any parts that fit?
Unless the new forks stretched out further! LOLMaybe I should just open up the 'zorst, fit a bigger rear sprocket and skim the head .5mm and live with that.
Also,The mount points on the PC50 look real similar to the Honda CT70... are these swappable? Wouldn't mind having some reasonable acceleration & higher top speed if it's easy enough!
Yeh, I understand people thinking that when they're rare. My car is one of only 8 left in my country but doesnt mean I wont do what I want with it.
Well, I'd never throw anything away from it - in fact someones already asked for the filter guard which he can have if I strip it.Im not into fast bikes, I like to get places slowly but stylishly... thats why my cars get built into lowriders. Can no one tell me what other forks might fit? Or am I just going to get beef for customising an old bike?
Who said anything about rat rods?
I can't ,easure it as it's not arrived yet...was trying to concoct a plan.As for cutting it up....Ive had this before with cars. It's always best to start with the BEST example of something for a custom...not fighting rot before you've even started. I dont need a moral compass here.
Yes it's a classic... but there's TONS of them over here - and cheap too - so i dont feel bad about cutting one up.Its only going to be driven a mile or two a day to work and back, and down to some shows to accompany my Datsun so major handling isn't going to be an issue.Just need to know what else shares a similar head tube length and diameter
Hey all, Haven't been on here for a long while since my Puch City gave up the ghost.Im waiting on delivery of a '71/'72 Honda PC50 at the moment (see attached) and the plan is to modify it considerably.Im going to lower, hardtail and stretch the rear by about 4"-6". The issue I can foresee though is trying to swap in some better & shorter front forks. I was thinking al
Can I use a universal motorbike muffler/silencer on a 'ped?I've stumbled upon one that would fit, and looks right, but would it cause issues with backpressure or similar?
No workshop/garage hahah just the garden!I work until 5 every day so light is always an issue too...i hate the winter :(If you dont mind, send me a tel number via email (email@example.com) and i'll give you a bell, sort a meet up
"seeing as you’re only 5 miles from me i could pop round and take a look,i was a bike mechanic for 17 years so know my way around a 2-wheeler."That would be awesome if you could! I havent played with a 2-stroke for almost 10 years and have replaced all my knowledge with Datsun engines hahahahWhen would be good for you?
An AX40 eh! I was beginning to wonder to be honest as i couldnt find much/anything online about this model...let alone pics of others! It was on eBay and i just bought it on a whim. Just gotta try and fix the power issues im having with it :(Is this a rare ped then???
Haha! Frimley Green! Indeed a small world
How is it a scooter? I thought this would come under the 'NoPed' category?
Yeh, Ill take it all off tomorrow evening...too dark & wet outside to do it now.Cant find any performance exhausts for this engine in the UK at all :(
been trying to dig out something online to help. Could a clogged up exhaust cause a massive loss of power/torque?
Scrub that last message, ive just found the workshop manual LOLIt spins up fine when up on the stand, just not when im sat on it (im only 12 stone by the way)
Right guys, a little help if possible. My '82 Puch City (X40) is really having trouble putting its power down (what little it has)It wont even begin to climb the hill I live on (not steep) and dont have the usual 'whizz' of mopeds ive had in the past. The spark plug is brand new, as is the fuel, tyres are pumped up, cleaned the air filter...What could it be??
Yeh, it's all taxed & tested, insurance is about
!http://amicale.puch.free.fr/Petites%20annonces/X40.jpg!It does look alot like an X40, do you think its a derivative of them?
Ah, Im not into making it look like a motorbike, I like its quirky style :D
"I’m sure they could be adapted with some work if one wanted to, but why?"I just had a strange idea, one that's a bit silly so probably best forgotton.I'll probably just strip it down a tad, make it faster and repaint it - perhaps find some 14" whitewalls if i can/if they exist
Would push bike (BMX, mountain bike, etc) headstocks/forks fit in this?
Funnily enough, LOL, i was wondering how i could get it lower to the ground too!are Maxi forks quite short then?
