Nitrous! hahahaha I'd run a kit just to laugh when it seizes!!!!! Eh, I've got a machine shop at my disposal so anythings possible. I was seeing what kits people think shred the most but honestly its between a poilini, gila and a metra 80.

I'll pass.

Make sure your floats are sitting correctly (if you hold the carb upside down make sure they are parallel to the horizon.) Also, check your float valve brasso will clean it out if its dirty. Fuel filters installed upside down and or dirty can cause excess pressure and fuel wont flow properly.

Im soon to be building a tomos up for my trac frame and I'd like some things that crucially rips. I've bounced around with 80cc metra kits, polini's and even taking a 65cc metra and reed blocking it. Question is, what will shred? I know I know, people say polini, people say the metra....was wondering if any of the Tomos kits stand up to the puch kits? If not polini vs Metra (unl

Was wondering if anyone knew more about these kits? My sabre's jug looks different but I think I could make this kit work. Any more info out there??

Done working on it for the day.Needle is set second from the top.Idle and mix screw are about 2-3 turns out.Running a Malossi filter.and the timing hasn't been touched Im thinking .20?The ped came to me with a NGK 6 and so 6 it is..The plugs are way to wet through the course of the day. I'm a 66 and its to wet to turn over. I also switched to a 16mm PHBG.

Did that, its at a 40 currently.

Magnum MKII70cc KstarHi-Comp Head19mm PHBG RacingTechno Boss PipeThis 'ped has a gremlin I can't seem to pinpoint. Problem is, she doesn't run long enough to begin tuning and when she dies its almost impossible to get it back running. I started at an 83 and ended up at a 67 and it was wet all the way. I pulled out my float gauge and made sure the floats and the needle were horizo

I'm fairly certain theres no air leak as of today. I pulled everything apart and used rtv sealant on the gaskets. I was able to run it for a few with an 83main got it to idle but I still think the problem is the 50 idle jet is way to big. Time to order a pack of jets. Jesse if you're using a 42 in florida I should be at 42 or 45 as well (NC pulls a lot of humidity and high heat index

Not to bring a thread back from the dead but if it wasn't mentioned, octane rating is the resistance of fuel to detonation(burn). People have not the slightest clue that using a higher grade of octane doesn't give you power, its the difference between running lean or rich (stoichiometry.) If you've even been behind a car that smells like rotten eggs chances are their exhaust has b

What would you recommend main jet wise? The max I have is an 83 at the moment. I believe my brother has a 90 and 100 set inbound from Benji.

I'm fixing to order a series of jets. I've gotten it to idle when it was colder out this past week. Now that its in the mid to upper 60s its been a bit dodgy. Thanks for the advice.

First off, I have checked the tuning spread sheet for all pertinent data.I'm currently working on a za50 with K-Star 70cc kit, hi-comp head, 19mm Racing PHBG w/ malossi filter.Problem: This bike is giving me a hard time tuning wise. I've been able to get it to run on a 77 and 79 main jet but idles really rough and than finally chokes out. As the days get warmer, only have a few moment

Well I should say I have a pretty rare Sears Sabre and though its a kick start, the rotation sucks and i just end up pushing it to get it started. Like I said its not tuned all the way (havent had a chance to really do a idle check and a WOT check.) Thanks for the words of encouragement, wasn't looking forward to using the stock carb...
Greg — 14 years ago
Well with the pseudo original carb I never needed the choke and i could just sit on the bike, push with my feet and drop the clutch and off we go. This PHBG takes a lot of fricken effort to get started. Wasn't sure if others shared the same opinion. Unfortunately I cant kick over my bike and I have to push it and drop the clutch......no imagine doing this down town in a semi busy city....h

Is it me or do other people have a crucially hard time starting their PHBG 16mm or 19mm carb? It takes me a good 15 minutes to get it running on choke. Any secretes besides the 'dont give it gas when its on choke' approach.Reason I say this is, my Sabre left my stranded today....yes it was about 32degree out but it had been ran for an hour or more!

Figured as much thanks. (intake/exhaust was the give away)

Here's what the kit looks like. Cant be a VIP kit as its not tapered. I guess it doesn't really matter one way or the other. I had the initial idea of using it on my magnum but I guess itll stay on the garelli.
Greg — 14 years ago
pulled a kit off of a garelli (it's new)it says polini but kind of looks like thishttps://www.1977mopeds.com/cgi-bin/commerce.cgi?preadd=action&key=574what is the name of this particular polini kit?

I believe the carb is gummed up as this moped sat awhile before we started working on it. The main jet was clogged beyond belief and thus gives me the idea the carbs needs to be rebuilt now! Thanks for the suggections!!
Greg — 14 years ago
ok so here is my problemtomos sprint, i can get it started with the choke on, barely runs/idles.if you leave it on the kickstand and full throttle it, sometimes it dies out in about 30 seconds and sometimes it works.if your sitting on it and you try to go while the choke is on, it doesn't go anywhere, if you full throttle it then you will move some but it will die after a few seconds.A few ti
