Ive got the vm20, estoril, on an alukityeah, you know im not even sure that I got up that high, I was on a 25mph road so I didnt top out, can stock clutches hit that rpm in 1st gear?I guess the next step is to get a bike computer or something so at least Ill have a ballpark range of what speeds/rpms im actually hittingthat being said, i still need to set my timing, which is new to me on CDI setups

I was thinking more of like, if and when i seize my 70cc kit, bore out the cylinder to fit the gila piston.yeah you wouldnt be getting all the power of an 80cc kit, but you wouldnt have to add any metal to the case for the huge transfers and it would be a lot cheaper..can anybody think of the disadvantages to that?the only thing that might bother me would be if the cooling fins couldnt work for th

www.treatland.tv...and next time, dont make a new thread, just reply to your old thread
Austin — 13 years ago
yeah it will work, but depending on what year you have, you might have to ream out the conrod where the bushing attaches to the piston. if you have an later model a3, then reaming will not be necessaryand then have a puch e50 bushing pressed in, in either case.and then you're going to need an a35 bendy intake and reedcage.

get the a35 or a55 studs, you can use some washers, and 11mm bolts, and tomos studs are rated at 10ft/lbs.

im thinking that i might go with the n8p because even though i might lose some low end torque with porting, i think i can make up for it in clutch tuning and gearing, and hopefully id wouldnt lose too much top speed from the gearinganybody have numbers on a 70ish cc running a n8p?
Austin — 13 years ago
yo sam,we can throw the estoril on for test run when you get down here to see if it helps at allim getting a decent amount of cash today and im going to order some jets and needles, so as soon as i get my intake ill be ready to go
Austin — 13 years ago
so can anybody that has experience with these help me decide which one to get. i emailed rafter and he said that they can make either n8p or destoyer for my alukit. has anybody done tests to see what the difference in top speed is?if theres not too much of a difference, then it looks like the destroyer is the way to go.

Hey guys, I know a lot of you are running VM20s and 22s. I recently bought a cheapo Mikuni motorcycle carb and need a new needle for this thing to work properly. My local scooter store has been no help in finding this specific part for me, so I just need to get the needle numbers and order them myself. I'd like both so I can mess around with it till I get it working right. Thanks for the help
