have you tried to run one?not to piss on anyones parade but it would seem some radical porting timing changes would be neededa 2 stroke relys on overlap or scavengingit will be hard to keep from blowiing all the fuel & air rite out of the exhaustit looks nice & I really would like to see it run so get some video up but in theory its not likeley to work out welltake careJAK

more mass means more torqueso if you gear lower & lighten the mass you can spinn more Rs but it probably wont last as longthe other thing I was thinking was the deal with the stuffed cranks not leaving room in the crankcase, this makes the engine to make better use of the intake & transfer "strokes" you know what I meanso drilling holes might not be a good ideaNEVER EVER DRILL HO

yeah if you could make a simple diagram of the rectifier that would be greatI like the A123 bats & ran 4 of them before on another scooterthey can take a real beating & are very forgivingtake careJAK

this is what I did to get the rear suspension to workits nice & stifftensioning the drive chain is going to be the biggest problem because the rear axle moves about an inch toward & away from the drive sprocketI was thinking an arm with a shaved down skateboard wheel & a ood spring ought to do ittake careJAK

yeah that is a shuttle setupI took the cover off of the side & looked at all the traney stuff & pulled the head as well & the cylinder is freaking perfectI bought the engine to do something with but the offset of the drive would have the engine hanging way out one side so its not really useful to meyou can email me of you are interested.... maybe we can swap some E50 parts & or wha

yeah Im aware of the effective stroke being effected although it does give better scavenging filling the cylinder a little better for teh compression strokethanks for all your input guys :-)I hawged out the exhaust oretty good in width & moved the port roof up about 1/8 inth so its near round up therethe intake port got lowered widened both keeping that nice taper to the gasket area :-:I cant

yeahone of them siezed in about 500 miles & one of the way undersized main bearings screwed up toothe one Im running now is niceley tuned for mid range powerthe bike goes 35-40mphthe way it was setup before it would do 45 but the engine dident like it at all :-)I want to build a frame for the E50 that looks like an antique biketake careJAK

jak stoll — 14 years ago
the one I have here is the aluminum cylinder?arent they the low torque cylinder?thanks for your timeJAK

does anyone have either a kit off of their engine or a cylender that worked really well which was ported to measure the distance between the top of the cylinder & the top of the exhust portthe reason I asked is that I worked on a cylinder I got & have it at just an inchI may have taken too much outtake careJAK

why dont you just run a hone through it brieflyor go to a local machine shop & have them look at itI think the better you can repair it now the longer overall it will lastI have re used mildly dammaged pistons & had no problems as long as OD of the piston that rides in the cylinder is goodI actually took the side of the piston to the side of my 14 inch cutoff wheel while rotating the pisto

that last pipe just was not better :-)I put my old one on & with the main just a tad samller them before with the needle up a notch from before allong with the head shaving ( tried the other pipe with higher compression)it has a really nice wide power band with lots of bottomI couldent be happier with itI dont think Im gaona mess with that one any more :-)take careJAK

yeah iron/steel porting burrs plug up quick on aluminum if you run the grinder at high speedslow down a bityou can clean the aluminum out with a pick tool or somethingon aluminum cylinder heads (cars) I use aluminum specific porting burrs & cartridge rolls to make quick work as you are dong like 16 ports sorta on a 16 valve plus the pocket workanyway good lick & nice worktake careJAK

generally you will cut the gasket when one side is done & then use the gasket to transfer to the other mating piece thus the term "gasket matching"I dont know what he did thoughBTW nice work on the prting dude :-)have a great weekJAK

the chinese engine in my bicycle 35-40 mph cording to my guage was below 75PSI & ran greatthe piston was below the deck at TDC so I shaved the head considerably & got it over 80PSI & it really woke up but I have never had starting issues or anything it has allways idled greatI think the chinese engines are like 6:1 comp stockI cant wait to work with the E50 although I have another comp
