Chris Powers — 3 years ago
By the way, I am a member form the original Decepticons in the 90s form Kazoo and owned a moped in the 70s. I had 27 peds in my garage two years ago.. yeah got a problem. So, I am not ignorant to peds by any measure. I am old and forget a lot o shit thou!

WTF?! 35/36 is super good with just adding a pipe? What are you talking about Willis? Now mine going 30 with just a pipe is okay. But with the 15mm intake and carb... some shit aint right.
Chris Powers — 3 years ago
IT IS MESSING WITH ME!
Chris Powers — 3 years ago
I am just a little blown away by him gaining a solid 11mph with just a pipe upgrade.
Chris Powers — 3 years ago
Thanks all,I just wanna be clear here. I have upgraded pipe, upgraded carb and intake on one and it is being smoked by 5 mph by a biturbo pipe upgrade on the exact same make and model year. I will check the teeth. I am thinking weaker compression and jet too big.
Chris Powers — 3 years ago
So I and a friend have the same 78 yellow pintos. His configuration:New biturbo for e50stock 12 intake and carbup jetted to 58.He is getting 35 solid.Mine:circuit pipe15 mm clone carb and intakestock 82 jet (I went up and down and 78 jet gets me 31 mph).I am getting 30 mph...WTF!? how is that possible!?

thanks!

Man, now I need to make decisions... I guess if I do this I need to run a 12v halogen, do they make on that fits the headlight housing on the pinto? And which regulator on treats?
Chris Powers — 4 years ago
And do I need to put in a regulator?
Chris Powers — 4 years ago
Sounds great! Just to be clear I am buying a new coil that is 12v and replacing the older 6v coil?
Chris Powers — 4 years ago
That means:Replace 6v lighting coil with 12v? and then headlight bulb to 12 and running light to 12? Is there a walkthrough for that?
Chris Powers — 4 years ago
Thanks, All bulbs check as good with a multimeter. I guess I will pull the flywheel and get to the stator... poo.. I did not want to cause I am lazy!
Chris Powers — 4 years ago
Sorry, I had to correct the title...
Chris Powers — 4 years ago
Hi All,I just tested my gray and yellow wires coming out of the stator. Yellow is right around 5.8 and gray is zero. I thought they came from the same coil... If the yellow is giving current but gray is not... is it the coil, or the ground in the stator? My headlight kind of pulsed from bright to dull a few times and then both the headlight and running light died. The bike still runs sweet like, b

It definitely has the stock 12 on it... I just could not remember if the square bings were 14 or not. Becuase I am pretty sure I have one somewhere. I know I have some del ortos around. I will probably just through one on...
Chris Powers — 4 years ago
That is why I asked. If they said "square," I would not have asked. Get it?Puch might not use them, but these are old, and people change shit out. Also, just because someone did not say it, does not mean that they were not using the number alone to reference which cab they were attempting to reference and left the square property out. People give incomplete info all the time. So in short
Chris Powers — 4 years ago
Is that 14 mm the Square bing? Mine is not the Square. I will check when I get home. I may actually have a square bing hanging out in my boxes of part... Gezzz... I knew I should have organized them. If I do not have one, should I just buy some 15mm carb, or look for the 14mm bing?Oh yeah, Sproket? And thanks, guys! I appreciate it. I do not have a ton of time right now to scan the forums... :-( lo

Yep, I am wondering which carb is the most preferred? I am looking for the next step up from stock, not necessarily the most expensive. So I am wondering what is the go to carb for a basic upgrade. That and which sprocket/ number of teeth to gain a bit on the takeoff. It has been years since I bought a carb and am not sure what new stuff is out there.
Chris Powers — 4 years ago
Just checking in on what is the best current cheap carb I should replace the stock one with on a Puch pinto that has a techno circuit pipe on it? I need to get the best cheap clutch upgrade to.... and which spoke I should throw on it? Not trying to get the best of the best, just one the first step up in those respective items? Maybe I will get lucky and the best one is the cheapest! lol
Chris Powers — 4 years ago
So I can just switch the springs out? any particular springs that are better? or a whole clutch? I might ask well ask what the current got to carb is?
Chris Powers — 4 years ago
So I am breaking down because it is just so fucking addictive.... I cannot stop tinkering with the damn thing!Which carb and what sprocket to get a little of the low end back for off the line?
Chris Powers — 4 years ago
I got the Circuit... it is great. Bing with a 72. I need a better carb and gears.
