I always though of tack welding thin aluminum flat plate in the "stars" and filling in all the openess. Using the gussets as flanges. They would look kinda like 5-star car wheels.

the first time I was letting it warm up and I was also checking for air leaks.second time I was just letting it warm up. I put in new plugs between when I down jetted.I may go get some b6's and take bulls advice and not let it sit for a long time at idle.
Gunther McCilicutty — 13 years ago
once it fouls the plug then it dies and won't start. I am going to try and take off the air filter and see whats up.its runs like a champ but just fouls out after a while.hotter plug than a B7 maybe?
Gunther McCilicutty — 13 years ago
I checked the plug and no cracks. I am thinking that the air filter may need to come off and I just run some pantyhose on there to see if I am not getting enough air. I dunno.....

Dremmel 511 Finishing Abrasive Buffs..they come in two packs...fine and coarse
Gunther McCilicutty — 13 years ago
I poished my port on my airsal last night with a finishing abrasive bit. Lookes like a little red or dark grey brillo pad that attaches like the cutting discs to the shaft bit (with the screw in the end). Looks like a mirror nowthats my best description...Walmart has them

its a puch
Gunther McCilicutty — 13 years ago
ok...I got some dremmel bits that will do just fine.I am looking at this thing and I am thinking I need to even out the surface where the head matches up. Little bit of light sanding on a piece of glass sshould do it...looks pretty flat to me though.I got the whole bike tore apart again right now and its getting another overhaul this weekend. the kitting may have to wait for another week or so.t

how "smooth"? Its already kinda smooth. Like polished?
Gunther McCilicutty — 13 years ago
My Techno Boss header is the same size as the exhaust port...pretty stoked about that...and I got my treats (intake, gaskets,ect...) in the mail last night so I am going to make it a weekend project.man, if i can do just 40 for right now it will have been all worth it.I am going to run the kit as-is without messin with the ports till I break it in and learn how to tune it from there.
Gunther McCilicutty — 13 years ago
its for a Puch and I am going to run a 15.
Gunther McCilicutty — 13 years ago
which one you got? does it use 120?
Gunther McCilicutty — 13 years ago
Justin- Exactly!!! That is why I am putting it on for now without porting or case matching. I want to tune and run the kit un-raped for a while, then when I do decide to do some port work I know what the performance gains are when its up and running again. If I ported the kit before I put it on then I would never learn how to tune a stock kit. Baby steps.

cool. I was just confused by what it meant. I think I will just grind it off so I may be able to convince a cop its a 50cc if I ever get pulled over . Here in NC if its over 50cc it needs to be registred as a motorcycle. The second question was to any of you who picked up this kit recently and found thet the ports inside are already chamfered, no sharp edges. I have been reading up before I got

I would really like someone to tell me what the number "80" on my 70cc cyl means...
Gunther McCilicutty — 13 years ago
yeah..I kinda got the same set up and I am runnng a 70.
Gunther McCilicutty — 13 years ago
there is no such thing as an Airsol 80cc kit. Never mind the question but what dies the 8o molded in the fin mean?
Gunther McCilicutty — 13 years ago
So I was looking at my new kit last night (not put on yet) and I noticed there is a # "80" molded into one of the fins? What does this mean? I ordered a 70cc and there were no markings on the box that it came in stating it was a 70cc or not. Just curious. Can't be a mix up and I got an 80cc? Can't be right?also- I have read all the posts abot chamfering the ports on thes

Gunther McCilicutty — 13 years ago
not this time. I am still a newb. If I case matched first, then how will I know what the power difference is when I finally do case match?Stay on topic
Gunther McCilicutty — 13 years ago
So this is my first kit and I have read all the posts and the wiki about this kit. I plan on not case matching for the time being. The only question I have is the parts I read about "chamfering the ports". I assume this means taking off the sharp/rough edge of the inside openings of the ports in the cylindar chamber. This is so the piston ring does not hang up on the rough port openin
