the goal is to clean without destroying the seals, so things like brake-cleaner are not a good idea.here's what i would do:drain what you can then fill as directed with transmission fluid, heat cycle engine, drain, consider repeating.if this is a Garelli Noi, then you gotta remove the rubber clutch

ignore brianf. Your question is directly related since there are plenty of vintage mopeds that also use belts and pulleys. the Aero80 is also a 2-stroke so engine questions are fine too.Rough surface may affect drive belt longevity and dirt/water/rust could cause the belt to slip... but I'd still run it and see.

here in VA they lookup the VIN when you go to get your paperwork. theres also a form that says "this moped was never titled before i owned it lemme have a title please i promise im not lying"... i had a DMV employee ask me if i was sure its a moped and not a boat cause my Motron vin was already in the system for a boat. theres a standard procedure to make a moped VIN unique... they just

while i am capable of running experiments i dont have the desire. i could speculate if ya like?perhaps it has something todo with the combination of parts on our mopeds (myself and my dad). we use lightened clutch drums, 70cc TCCD kits, HPI ignition, and then everything else is kinda random. perhaps the reduced rotating mass was causing the starter plate to bounce around a lot cause the machine ed

buy a rebuild kit, Disassemble, take the carb to a motorcycle shop, and ask them to put it in a parts cleaner. then when you reassemble use the original jets and needle.

is this a 2 shoe clutch problem? has anyone done this to a 3 shoe clutch that's braced?

From the physics side, Hooke's Law states that the spring's force increases linearly with the compression of the spring... until its not due to excessive compression. You have to ensure that the spring is actually capable of compressing enough for the shoe to contact the bell, plus extra to account for shoe material wear. So ya cant crank the adjustment all the way down, maybe not much

We know its happening and we know it happening faster than previous mass extinctions.we could fix the problem if capitalism could figure out a way to profit from it.

assuming you don't have the Streetmate/Revivel rear wheel, sprockets and chain are fine.along with the exhaust angle, the rear exhaust mount could also be different.

we were grinding down the oil pump shaft cover so the aftermarket CDI would fit properly and went too far... so we ripped it out and i made a 24mm x 2mm aluminum disc, added moto-seal, and "pressed it in" with a hammer and socket. looks better than stock and now the CDI fits perfect.

Hepatitis J /johneaaron: 43 mph is like the ideal speed.Terbo Speghetti /coachcoitus: Get a motorcyclei agree here. i have probably $2000 in my magnum and yet it still only gets up in the high 40s, though it does have beastly acceleration... for a single speed engine so its still slower than a tomos with similar power.Tomos engines are great until the transmission starts to develop issues. a kit

i installed a bicycle cyclometer on my first Tomos. Ensure you get one where you can specify the diameter of the fully inflated tire. they use a rolling average to compute speed and update kinda slow, but mopeds arent much faster than Roadies and ya know its just mopeds. slow+functional can be good enough
