1. Re: PA50 fuel line

Forum: Repair
Thanks for the responses.I was fortunate to address the problem with a very easy fix. There seemed to be a lot of play in nipple that the fuel line attaches to, so I unhooked the fuel line and was able to tighten it up one full turn. Reattached the fuel line, and it runs like it did last December.

I'd appreciate it if you'd avoid (frankly, pretty obnoxious) editorial exhortations like "WOW." I'm not ashamed to admit that I have very little mechanical skills and experience, but I would like to get the moped back on the road.Does anyone else have a response about the air bubbles I'm seeing. Are they normal or could they produce the symptoms I'm describing?

3. PA50 fuel line

Forum: Repair
Hi--In preparation for this riding season, I had my rear tire and tube replaced and a new petcock installed at a local bike shop. Got it back today. Moped last ran in December. The moped will only start and run (very, very roughly) with the choke on. I took off the right side floor guard to check the fuel line, and I see air bubbles in the line. They become more frequent when I open the throttl

The rear tire of my '79 PA50I won't hold air anymore, probably just due to age/dry-rot/weather checking/etc. My main questions are: do I need a new tire and a new tube, or just a new tire? Also, can you recommend a good online source for tires? Any other suggestions/warnings about replacing the tire? Thanks a lot.Chris

Hi--I (think I) need a petcock for my 79 PA50I. She's leaking gas when not running, regardless of position of the lever. Tank itself and lines seem OK.Do you have one, or can you suggest the best place online to acquire one? Thanks a lot.

7. 1979 Honda PA 50 Petcock

Forum: General Discussion
New member here with a pretty basic question: does anyone know which direction the lever should be pointing for the regular tank and which direction for the reserve tank? "Off" is clear (parallel to ground), but I can't figure out the others. I had two of these mopeds more than twenty years ago, and I can't remember what it was. Thanks a lot.
