So, I ended up going with a relatively inexpensive bike computer. Cost about $25 on amazon and I bought two handlebar mounts. Snaps in and lifts out like a charm. So for $40, I’ve got a speedo for two different bikes that required next to no effort, haha. This was the model I went with - compared with a car speedo and accurate within 1 mph:https://www.amazon.com/dp/B083QLWSMF/
Thank you for sorting me out Steve! Getting me back on the road soon.
Yeah, not running a fender. That one looks perfect when it’s back in stock though.
Anyone have a spare you want to put to use? Just noticed mine cracked and I’ll need to replace it - but the EBR ones on Treats seem to not work on every model.Rustiness is no issue - I’ll probably paint it anyway. I'm in Milwaukee, so if anyone local has one I can buy it from you and skip shipping.
Nice - couple of good items to check into here. Ideally I’ll be able to move it easily from one moped to the other, which is why I was looking into this rather than replacing with a NOS or used speedo.Considered using a phone-based one too, but I don’t know if I trust a mounting bracket on the handlebars. Would rather a $60 GPS falls off than a phone, haha.
Anyone have one they really like? Quality and price seems to vary quite a bit.Ideally, I’d like one that’s bar-mounted and that I can take off when it’s parked somewhere or if I want to move it from one moped to another. Battery or solar, whatever works.I have one I’m currently riding with no speedo and one with a broken speedo I was thinking I might just remove instead of fixing if I can find a s
I’m curious to know what marks it out as a first year, Spanish XK. I had no idea there were so many details like that!
Just started getting back into mopeds for the first time since I moved to Madison. I moved out here a few years ago for work and put my mopeds in storage since I didn't have space at my apartment. Im in a place downtown with a bit more space now though. Finally have my mini-Magnum build going again and I'm working on a Pinto and a new Magnum at the moment. As you might be able to tell, I
Rattled off the other day. It's been frustrating me to no end not being able to ride in to work and having to park a car downtown instead. Please help.I'm located in Milwaukee near Lakefront Brewery/Brady Street, so if there's anyone in MKE willing to part with the piece I need I'll come pick it up ASAP.E-mail me at firstname.lastname@example.org if you can help me out.
I've been waiting for one of the shops to put up a pack of cables, but I'm impatient and looking to get some now. That's what happens when the weather gets nice and my attention span dwindles. So here's the rundown, 4 cables, for a E50 Puch Magnumish setup:Throttle!Clutch!Front brake!Rear brake!ORIf you've just got a throttle and rear brake, I think I can fudge the other 2.
Used or unused, I'm sure somebody's got some EBRs lying around. Treats is currently out of stock, but I'm looking to move forward with this part of my project as soon as I can.If anyone's got 'em and is willing to ship to Omaha, send me an offer at leeradke2 @ yahoo .com
You've got mail. Sorry about the delayed response.
Sounds cool.Feel free to e-mail me too.
Well, nothing's set yet, so I'm still looking for someone to give money to...bump.
I'm looking for a frame so I can use the engine mount and swingarm for a hefty project we're working on here in Omaha. However, since we're using a tube frame, a Maxi or rigid isn't really ideal for this one - we're no miracle workers (yet).By our count, there are at least 7 models with a tube frame, swingarm and an E50 compatible mount. So if you can sell me a Magnum, Fre
Any Regency or Starflite HS tanks? The top-tank models. I'm looking for one I can powdercoat, so paint's not an issue. You can just e-mail me if it's easier. Thanks.
Yup, that looks familiar: beer in hand, struggling to stand. Now that we have the proof, let's start the bidding at $1000?
Seeing as how these are such hot property, we've decided they will only leave our hands for money. That goes for everyone.BTW, I just spent a creepily long time time looking for photos of Nele wearing those shoes to no avail. That doesn't mean it's not true though.
Again, I'll reiterate the "don't sell" comments, that's a beauty. But if you can't keep it, I think 700 is actually a bit low. Maybe 800?This is an ebay auction that's kind of in your neck of the woods:http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1981-Batavus-Top-Tank-Moped-SUPER-CLEAN-532-miles-RARE_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQ_trkparmsZ72Q3a1205Q7c39Q3a1Q7c66Q3a2Q7c65Q3a12Q7c240Q3a131
nik - if you're looking to sell some of the parts on that Batavus, I need the cosmetic stuff like side covers and a clutch/drive belt cover. I've got a Regency HS.Just let me know.
We're all hanging out in midtown and making our puchs look as ridiculous as our helmets. E-mail us and come ride some weekend or weekday - we're trying to make Sunday rides a requirement to be cool this summer.
If you can get Juiceboxxx to make an appearance, I guarantee at least 20 people from Omaha will be there shitting their pants.
Looks like old Harleys, even the color choice. I like it.I'm not going to try embedding these:http://www.flickr.com/photos/69227768@N00/133122194/http://www.flickr.com/photos/7564185@N04/2607571185/
As far as those intakes go, Eric and Eddie opened my eyes to the Malossi ones. With the Polini 4-petals you lose a couple more fins from the top and the way the intakes are bolted to the reed block is slightly different.Polini kit, awesome. Malossi intake, also awesome. Polini intake, less so, but probably still nice.
I did that to my iBook and as a quick fix the guy at the mac store just plugged in a USB keyboard and it worked fine. Maybe try that if you've got one handy. It looked kind of funny though, so I've got a replacement keyboard now thanks to Eddie!
Looks beautiful. That's exactly what I was hoping for.Case closed I guess, Thanks man.
I've got a set of the slimmer wheels for a Maxi intended for 2" tires. I'd like to put a pair of 2.25" Gazelles on, but before I run out and throw my money around I figured somebody's probably done this before me and could probably provide some reassurance that they will actually fit. The wheels aren't actually going on a Maxi, so swingarm and fender clearance isn
Yeah, Eddie's neighborhood's nicer than the one Eric and I are in, but you could probably park in our driveway if you were in a pinch.
