@gregits tough to get the polini kit on the pipe with a motomatic. i was running the same kit with a n8p and a 24mm mikuni, getting about the same top speed, not getting any pipe. try running without weights so you can feel the rpm range that the pipe hits on. then when add weights keeping it in the range. i had to get crazy high revs to get on the n8p. its scary when the motomatic hits.

the pics are from a flush milled head and running 2 base gaskets with the athena. the prob wit 2+ base gaskets is it retards the timing. just experiment wit it. hand cut the squish band post results!

just get some thick gasket material and run 2 base gaskets. hobbits run really hot w/ a high comp head. you need lotta fin so search for other options.!http://lh4.ggpht.com/_2AodUDm7UA8/TFELTzzvYPI/AAAAAAAAAm0/xbJga1havoM/s640/Project10_head-1.jpg!!http://lh5.ggpht.com/_2AodUDm7UA8/TFELUCM3dWI/AAAAAAAAAm4/sVz9_YKOjPE/s640/Project10_headgasket-1.jpg!

im running 6v and i need a new coil. i was wondering if these 12v pit bike coils would work. the reason i ask is that many of the 12v coils work for 6v so what is the difference?!http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?VISuperSize&item=390160414447!"ebay link":http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/SUPER-COIL-IGNITION-XR50-CRF50-XR-50-Pit-Bike-CO01-_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQhashZitem5ad75f7

had similar issues. found "this":http://www.germanscooterforum.de/Lambretta_LI_GP_SX_TV_f2/Einstellungstipps_Mikuni_TM_24_28_t130952.html on a german scooter site. its all about the pilot jet and the needle.

i have done this with my pa50. they burn out. if you look at the video you can see the flicker at idle. all moped generators are AC. unless you have a battery, youre runnning AC to the lights. LEDs are diodes, they only accept current one way unlike your household lightbulb that creates light from a heated coil on AC current. if you want DC, you need a battery. if you want the DC to be charged by

65+ = deathmachine. thats some heroic bastin.week before portland snapped the crank w/ a skinny belt and unmodified vario- so it woulnt close fully. fn highrevs. insane acceleration, you sand up on the pedals the front wheel starts rising.in the end i think that the parma doesnt really match up with the n8p pipe. the parma is more low end.

think you are right about the carb. the 105 seems rich. and checking the homemade weights, they are getting chewed up on the lip of the ramp plate

forgot to mention.. the above situation uses a dayco belt- alot narrower than OEM. during lunch brake i threw on the stock belt w/ above setup. revs are way down. low 50s and doesnt take advantage of the powerband. would a derbi or malossi spring up the revs?
jan — 13 years ago
givens: kitted hobbit, N8P pipe, 24 mikuni, notched vario, pa50i weights- 9.3g, stock rear pulley spring.the pa50i weights dont get into the powerband. homemade bronze tube weights @ 7.2g are crazy high revving, all up in the powerband 60+the high revving setup will prob self destruct in under 500 miles and just isnt good for a cruise. will adding a stiffer rear spring allow me to use the pa50i we

for engines that put small hp, javapipe will be all you need. plus it exports dwf drawings for templates. as for the head design feature, jennings and graham-bell has all u need.it would be sick if someone built a javapipe and posted results

r u gonna build a pipe? otherwise dont waste your money. but this is a cool "website":http://www.mh-aerotools.de/airfoils/javapipe_en.htm for anyone interested in building a pipe. screen shot of a setup for stock hobbit
jan — 13 years ago
360mm. looks crazy but u can then fit stock panels
jan — 13 years ago
i was just wondering if there was was anyone who took for example a cheaper puch pipe and did a hack and weld w/ good results for top endfunny, yes... obviously *real* was referencing the motomatic
jan — 13 years ago
no doubt a real pipe would be the best solution. but what other pipes built for blasting are out in hobbit land?

im still running 25:1notched variator and have some pa50I weights but added some lead to make them slightly heavier.

what mix should i be running for the parmakit?
jan — 13 years ago
70cc parmakitdio 4 pedal reed24mm mikuniproma exhaust1k clutch springsi was adjusting my carb jet size. the mikuni 24mm came w/ a 95. tried a 170, 150 and 130 but all 4 stroked. put the 95 back in. it accelerates to 40 crazy quick. but then immediately stops accelerating and tops around 45. whats going on?

i was trying to find an easy way to add and change roller weight to find that optimum balance of accel and top speed without buying a set of rollers. but once that lead is squished in the roller, its a bitch getting it out.
jjdp — 14 years ago
roller weights increased from 8.5g to 11.5g
jjdp — 14 years ago
cut the weights, clamped down in a vice. bench clamp would have worked better
jjdp — 14 years ago
ya, another lame mod- probably done before but thought i would share. bought some light rollers from treats. good accel. but wanted to increase the weight slightly. had a roll of pencil weight in the tackle box.

the plug seems ok, a bit of carbon but was dry.fuel/air mixture and idle was adjusted without result.the carb was cleaned following wiki instructions.the reeds are for stock setup.perhaps i have a vacuum leak?
jjpd — 14 years ago
I put a proma pipe on my 80 pa50II. Initially it idled fine but takeoff was shit. After 15mph acceleration was great. Toped off around +36mph. Soon it started stalling out at stops. I took out the carb, cleaned it, up jetted, and replaced the stock metal reed with boyesen reeds. Mid range acceleration is improved but the top speed lowered to ~32. The idle problem didn't go away either. I trie

has anyone seen performance gains by removing the head gasket and sealing with rtv silicone? (end of chapter 2)http://www.kreidler.nl/artikelen/performance-tuning-graham-bell/performance-tuning-graham-bell.pdf

poly tanks do not literally sweat beads of gas. at the molecular level, poly looks like spaghetti- allowing small amounts of vapor to get through. so as the article says- over time an unsealed tank will start to bubble and flake paint away from the bottom.
