Hey I want to get a moped and I live in Santa Rosa CA. I'm having some trouble finding any running ones for sale at a decent price. Anyone help a Moped solder wannabe out?
very nice, you a skilled mofo and a bad mamajama.
Man im sorry to here about your misfortune. maybe this will cheer you up. yesterday I saw 4 wennie dogs charging across the street in front of traffic to "attack" this dude walking. They were pissed and started chomping away at his ankles - so he punted. wennie dogs can fly. hope you have a speedie recovery.
wow man, keep up the awesome art! you rock.
I rock my hammer pants on my moped.
Thanks for the heads up frankman, unfortunately for me its too late. I went to the DMV and it took over an hour at the desk. I have a feeling they didnt do it right too. I told the guy its a 17 dollar one time registration and he said their is nothing that is a one time reg. I had to spend 170 bucks! 28 dollars for the test, my sales tax and god knows what else. then he says to me," you know
you need an "under the moped" job if you get my drift.

yea, you gotta email um and ask.
yeah i got one of them fancy scooter stores in my town as well. I asked them if the ever carry or consider carrying mopeds and the girl said, " Uhmm, like, they dont MAKE mopeds anymore." the FUCK they do! get off your high scooter horse and stop charging people 6000 dollars for your fancy pants toilet mobile!
battlescooter.comI did business with these guys and they are really down to earth and friendly. They are moving away from carrying moped stuff because no one bought their shit. All moped stuff is closeout now. They also have a few 2008 tomos left. give um a look, tell me what you think. the only thing is they are really hard to get a hold of on the phone.
certain renters insurance will cover you. i need to get insured as well.
well, im a new rider and own a 2008 arrow. I love the thing. Its got a lot of kick, handles nicely and the tubeless tires are sweet-sweetass. Lights are a tad on the dim side and the bike vibrates mildly. The a55 engine takes hills like no prob. its light weight and not only stops on a dime, but it picks it up! That being said, the only other moped I've riden was a late 70's motobecane -
im a new rider, like two days new and im already getting sick of the amount of questions i get about it - usually from old business men types - you know, the suv drivin folks. thanks for the heads up on what i can expect.
yea who gives a shit about what moped scenesters think. Its a sweet bike and its got pedals. I got my moped to get around, not be apart of some stupid fashion club.
I have a 2008 arrow and it really turns peoples heads. Its a fun ride, no complaints from me. why not think about carrying an arrow or two?
yea i paid tax at the dealer.
i just registered my moped in CA and it cost me 170 bucks! they made me pay tax on my new tomos arrow. it took like an hour at the desk too cuase no one new what to do. I payed the 170 and went on my way. what do you guys think? did DMV fuck up?
The trick to getting the stickers off your tomos is remove them immediately. the longer they are on, the more the sun bakes them on.
well how bout that... same engine as your ST. pretty much the same bike as an ST IMO.
I bought a 2008 tomos arrow and i love it.
my plan is to ride over to a walmart on my moped and take that shit over. live off the food, play video games while im turning a walmart truck into a battle cruising zombie killer. then I will take over a prison.
do you need insurance to ride in cali?
yeah youre right, Im thinking flag this post time.
not to mention the price. The whole "I have no insurance" thing is odd because I believe - correct me if im wrong, but you dont need insurance to ride a moped in California.
but does this ad seem weird? http://sfbay.craigslist.org/nby/mcy/728833979.html
right on, great advice everyone - i'm glad I joined this forum ;)
cool, thanks for the advice. I think I'll stay away. Any idea of where I could get a hold of a puch or tomos in the bay area?
that wasnt what i was intending - but do you think we should? i am naive when it comes to mopeds and am trying to educate myself on what a good deal looks like - does this deal suck or something?
HELLOOOOOOOOOOOoooooooooooooooooooo...I've been a bicycle rider for years and recently decided that mopeds would be my new love. I don't have one yet. I need some advice. Should I go for this deal:http://sfbay.craigslist.org/nby/mcy/722090367.htmlCould it be too much for a new moped guy to take on? or should I swoop on it? Also, anyone know of a place in the bay area that sells mopeds?T
