i got it at autozone. Apparently you can get it at any autozone.
has anyone used evaporust for the inside of the tank? I bought some and havent decided on using that or vinegar. Whats the best way to seal the tank once i have de-rusted it? I have heard many things but not "the best" way. thanks.
I cant seem to figure out whats wrong with my traveler. If i hold on the throttle and try and open her up i can only go top speed (25) for about 30 ft, then the engine slowly dies. I start pedalling again and the engine will sometimes give me trouble to start but still does and i can ride it. Im wondering if my problem is the carb, possiblity the float is getting stuck? Its the original gurtiner,
I have a 1980 motobecane 50 with a really rusty tank. The bike runs fine for a few miles but the rust particles clog up the carb. I have cleaned out the tank multiple times with kerosene but the rust particles are always there. I dont no what to do because i dont want to have to part my bike out, but i cant seem to fix the tank, and i really dont want to have to buy an external gas tank, thats sup
If i have a gurtner or my motobecane traveler and i want to switch to a dellorto 15:15 do i have to get the shorty intake? Can i switch just carb and keep everything else stock? or do i have to do something else ie;throttle, intake etc.?
o, i see. It still doesnt want to kick on when i pedal like a mad man and hold the decompressor. I checked the spark plug and its dry, so i get the feeling that i am not getting any gas. Should i just take the spark plug out and spray some starter fluid in there, then put it back and give it a go? Im assuming thats how the starter fluid works, just wondering? And thank you for the help, im still l
what about the choke? If i am not using the choke while starting will i not get enough gas to the engine? Or if i use it too much will i flood it? why do i have a choke if i have a throttle also, whats the difference dont they do the same thing?
i have a 1980 motobecane and i have tried to do everything i could to get it running, but i cant figure it out. i hooked up a new choke, cleaned out the carb, and put a new spark plug set up on it. The spark is working and the bike has good compression i just cant seem to get it to run. I really am stumped and plus i dont know too too much so any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
i finally got my motobecane to run, then the choke cable just broke right at the top. im new to this so does anyone no if i cn fix it with the cable it has now or do i have to buy an entirely new one?
does anyone know of a solution for a reliable spark plug boot besides one for the actually bike? I ordered one a while ago and it still hasnt come so i am getting antsy and i just wanna see if my moped will start up with a spark.
So i have a motobecane 50 and im still waiting on an ignition coil in the mail, but i think everything else is good. I was wondering how i can use starting fluid to see if it will run for a couple of seconds? Im new to this, sorry if its a stupid question.
i was wondering if anyone new of a different stock/aftermarket exhaust for a motobecane 50. I was always wondering the best way to clean my current one out so that the moped runs better?
thanks guys. Im pretty new to mopeds so then are gurtniers unreliable and a dellorto would be better? I have heard a few different opinions and it kind of seems like its different for every case. I honestly cant afford a whole new carb right now so im not sure what i would do if this gurtiner craps out on me.
my carb is leaking and i think its because the float bowl gasket could be too worn. I ordered a new gasket but i think i may have ordered the wrong one. I accidentally ordered the gasket for a dellorto 15:15, does anyone know if the dellorto gasket will fit my gurniter float bowl or do i have to order the "correct" one?
awesome! thanks for the suggestions guys
what do you guys suggest the best method is for cleaning my moped? I was thinking about taking everything apart and just soaking in a non abrasive solution that i havent decided. I want my metal to shine, and right now shes dull.
i have a 1980 motobecane 50 and i was wondering the correct size spark plug i need? I have one now that i got with the bike that is too large and hits the piston. Does anyone have the same moped or know what size i need?
ok, i will try that, im pretty sure i have the right cable, thanks for the help. I will let you know if i get a spark.
is there a specific spark plug wire that i have to get for the moped? because i already bought a replacement wire that has the same connections its just smaller and im confused how i would hook it up to the coil because it has to go inside a hole that i cant get to.
i have a 1980 motobecane 50 and it is missing some kind of coupling or piece that attaches the spark plug wire to the igniton coil. Does anyone know where i can find this piece and/or how i can fix my problem with or without it?
im interested in the motobecane wondering where are the mopeds?

there are plenty of fish in the sea.But i understand, my moby is a complete bitch too, i went to sit on her to turn her on for a final test run after we had some difficulties, she got turned on, but then her choke cable snapped and that was it for us, i just dont think she loves me as much as i love her, and it hurts.
