Thanks, I will work on this.
As I ride along and and get up to speed my Kreidler starts shaking like crazy when it wants to shift gears, and it stops after it gets into gear. Any ideas as to what might be causing this?
I will rip it apart and post pics but not until tuesday afternoon, so keep your eyes peeled.
I was riding my Free Spirit home last night and suddenly it sounded like there was a tin can being crushed over and over again inside of my engine and it became super bogged down and eventually stopped running. Any clue as to what this might be before I drop the engine and open it up?I guess I should say that it's pretty much stock.
So far this looks like the best option, can you tell me more about this rack?
I guess I should have mentioned that there will be two people in the car along with clothes, computer, small television, some video games and other stuff. I am moving after all. Also it will be a 13 hour drive.
I'm planning on moving and I'm trying to not rent a u-haul. I'l like to just take a car, is there an easy way, or a hard way to transport a moped using a car? Any rear bike racks that would be strong enough? I've got a Free Spirit so I've got no cross bar.
Yeah I actually already had some crimpers. I didn't think to crimp them because the plastic seemed so brittle but I tried it and sure enough it's holding great now. Thanks for all the help guys.
Thanks! I've never done any wiring before, sorry for the dumb question.
I wasn't talking about the terminal, I guess I should have posted a link, these are what I was talking about: https://www.treatland.tv/red-terminal-assortment-p/red-terminals.htm
I got some with the intention of doing a complete rewire but I can't seem to keep the wire in the connector. Do I have to solder it in there or just twist? I've tried twisting and it will hold for a little while but not for long. Any tips would help.
Thanks Dead Skunk but my wheel is a good christian wheel, it won't even let me see it without the fender until we're married!CT 'pED sHED: Thanks, I was thinking about taking it to a bike shop and now I will.
I can rehabilitate a seized engine and get a junker running but wheel truing is an art that is lost on me. My front wheel is rubbing on my front fender and there is plenty of room to move it over but I'm a dummy and can't figure it out.
I live in Lincoln, Nebraska and there isn't much going on here moped rally wise, at least I never hear about it, I was wondering how to go about getting one going and furthermore what happens at one.
Are there any Moped Army decals available, sometimes I'll see riders while I'm driving or walking and I'l like to look them up but I'm not sure if they'd even be on here, but if they had a decal or something on their ped or helmet you'd know for sure. Also this is along the same vein, it would be nice to have the ability to post at least one photo of each moped you o
If i do that it won't run at all.
My horn won't stop going off, is there an easy way to disable it and still ride?
I posted a while ago about my Free Spirit not starting and I ended up taking the engine apart and turns out a bunch of rust was the culprit. Now everything is back together and shiny and looking great and it starts now! YAYYYYohwaitwhat'sthat? Gas is like pouring from the carb's float bowl. So, would it be a new jet that I need or something as simple as a new gasket?
Thanks for the link, I will read through it and see if I can get it running after that.
So I changed the transmission fluid and roughed up the clutch and still nothing. Could it be the electrical system, I don't seem to be getting a spark from the spark plug.
Perhaps it's the brake assembly. The brakes were put in backwards on my front wheel before I got my first bike and they snapped closed while I was riding, damn near killed me! After this the wheel was impossible to turn. All I had to do was take the wheel apart and flip them around.
I hit the screws with some WD40 to loosen them up, I don't want to strip them any more than they already are. Now I wait. Yes, both of the chains are hooked up.This may be a stupid question but how do I drain the transmission fluid?
Yeah, there is resistance when I pull the starter lever. I think that the problem has to do with what the little arm does inside the housing, I'm currently trying to get that cover off. Any tips on getting it off, it seems to be on there really good.
The cable is tight and it is moving the little "arm". I'm thinking that the problem is more complicated.
I thought putting a new spark plug in would help but it did nothing. When I squeeze the starter lever nothing happens when I peddle, it just peddles smoothly as if I wasn't squeezing the starter lever. I'm not so good with figuring out what the problem is but I can fix it if someone can tell me what to do. Any ideas?
Thanks, i will try this within the next few days and let you know if it works. As far as the new parts, i can't really remember. I recall that the engine was practically rebuilt.
I can't get my free spirit to start, it was working fine last summer but all of the sudden it stopped running so i put it in the shed for the winter. this spring I couldn't get it to start, it would start to turn over at first but now nothing. Any ideas will help. It also just had a tune up and some new parts added last summer so i wanna get my money's worth and ride this baby as
