Right.Ive got a plan brewing to build my next motor. Before now ive messed with a few c90 engines and odds and sods. As well as the e50 pedal motors. Now ive got a magnum X engine (kicker) And want to use the bottom end for my maxi.My question(S) is....*Anyone got a photo of the inside (clutch side) of the kicker engine? Mines been pulled appart previously so i cant see what goes where.*Also. Iv

Ive been putting some decent miles on my puch, Running a K star 70 kit and Real bing 17mm with a fuego exhaust. Its pretty damn quick for the town riding im doing, But getting the bastard to stop is the problem. If i lay into both brakes realy hard i can sometimes get enough force to make the rear lock. But thats Difficult!Ive tried sanding the pads to take any glaze off. Ive brake cleaner

Should slide off. The grove for the circlip probably still has some ridged wear around the sides, Making a slight ridge that it wont "easily" go over..

Ive got mine down to 70g on a 3 shoe and its a big improvement. Even just making both the SAME weight helps....

Id just grind it back, Cut the cack metal out and mig it back on.To me that looks like a stress break anyway. Hard to tell from photos but the edge looks tin thin... Which would be from anealing(sp?)..For example dropping the bike on the pipe when it was hot. Would cause the metal to stretch around the area that took the impact. If you had it cherry red hot it would have just gone straight th

Ive managed to get the clutch to break free from the crank when not using a key.Only slightly but it does make the ped buck a bit. And once it pops free its loose and will do it every now and then when its hot untill you take it appart, Clean the shaft and then retorque it back up....I just filed a grove into the centre bore and fitted a key. Easy ...

Well, Didnt work... Tried lining it up. Still pisses.. I even adjusted the float realy high so it cant even drop far enough to snag and it still does it.Im pretty sure its not that the float is at fault. Im pretty sure its syphoning from the air being pushed into the mouth of it.Im running an open gauze airfilter facing forward into airflow. So the float thinks the fuel is being burnt

Yeah thats the bugger... Ill just use it for bits then. Need to be able to tune the clutch , And dont have any use for a standard 25mph puch...Cheers for that mate :)

What e50 is this? Just bought it this morning because it was dirt cheap and came with an owners manual i wanted...Got it home and although i had allready noticed the head with the plug angled down from the top, I then noticed the clutch side is enclosed and you can only get to it by splitting the case appart.....Is it off a specific model? Or just a late one? Internal coil too..Would search

Ive tried a new gasket and two different bowls but hadnt lined them up. Ill give that a go and see where it gets me... Cheers .

Yeah tried all of that, I even tried using a cotton bud (q tip) and polished the inside of the brass sleeve out , Put it all back together and still does it.Ive got a theory though.Im using an old 60's austin mini cooper SPEEDWELL ram pipe filter, And it sounds cool and has a mesh on the front so is perfect, BUT! The way i designed the inlet means its facing forward and scooping th

Id say running rich... Once the cylinder has expanded, and the coil/ plug are to operating temp, Its not able to burn the fuel as easy as it is on a big cold spark, In a tighter cylinder..Lean it out a bit and see how you get on.

Damn that looks brilliant :) Love how low you got those bars too!!
Dan E — 12 years ago
Right, Ive got a 17mm ORIGINAL bing from a magnum xFitted to a DIY intake on a 70cc dmp kit.Its fitted horizontally. So not leaning like they do on the magnum X.So the float should be level just like on a normal puch set-up.The problem is, I can start it and leave it idling all day long. Itll ride up the road fine, But then if i go full WOT it goes brilliantly. Untill i need to let off, A

Right, Im rebuilding/ unseizing a VAP4 engine from a early 50's french AUTOCYCLE.We managed to get the piston unseized last night by way of pulling the cylinder off of it with a home made puller.Ive now removed the piston from the rod as the crank and conrod are seized too.Upon removing the wristpin and therefor the piston, What i was expecting to be a bronze bushing turned out to be a l

To be fair i didnt have any trouble fitting the 50cc head straight to it with no issues (off a 2hp model)It was removed again to try the supposedly superior 70cc hi comp head which made it slower, So refitted the original. I got rid of the decompression valve though with a bolt rounded at the combustion end so that it doesnt create a hotspot and hole the piston. You dont HAVE to case match it.

Got an 88 on order now cheers guys ;)Gonna get some more ordered from the Netherlands too as a choice higher than 88/89 is hard to come by in the uk...Not many people over here run old mopeds... To worried about what other people think of em.....

I fitted a highcomp 70cc (largefin) head on mine and actually made it slower.(same as the 70cc kstar kit one)I reverted back to the 50cc head on a dmp 70cc barrel and got the power back. Good for mid to high 40's with lots to spare. Im upping the gearing a little on saturday and should see early high40's and possibly low 50's with a mental bas*ard riding it....Got nice plug co

Ive just done one and mine was slightly too big, So i used it to casematch .Check it on the cylinder too and see if the gasket will be restricting it at all? Might have the wrong gasket with it?
Dan — 12 years ago
Whip the head off it, Decarbonise it, check the exhaust port isnt full of carbon too, Clean the baffles out, take the air filter off and run it up the road without one. If it goes better with no airfilter, Get a new one. It could be old/ blocked up.No point in tuning if your not sure the ped your starting with is running properly anyway.

Ive got a 70cc k star, Matched to the case, 15mm bing rep and a techno boss.Had 45mph out of it easily. Will pull more but the forks are letting it down at the moment. Going to replace those to make it feel more stable.
Dan — 12 years ago
Damn those suzuki ones look cool!! Love the taper to them.Luckily i bought a fork brace allready , So have one ready and waiting for whatever forks end up on it...Problem is being in the UK getting the buggers over here will be a bitch. Hmm thinks ill have to email the guy..:)

Ive just got my 71 maxi S on the road after 20 years sat in someones shed. Its now got a 70cc kit, New internals, 15mm bing and a techno boss .Hitting 40mph and over it gets a bit sketchy... Im putting this down to soft rear coils, And the forks being undamped. But im wondering if longer forks would help? And some better rear springs?I was looking at some EBR europe forks. as a straight replace

I just took the little spring steel clip out of the grip. When you pull it off and look in the end (cable end of the grip) Theres a piece of spring steel slotted into it. I took that out and it make it spring back freely rather than bind up...Try greasing the bars and oiling the cable first though?
