Thanks Bitter, I've gone down on the rear sprocket some, but my chain hits the mounting bracket for the rear frame already. I may be able to go up a tooth on the front, but it's a tight fit there. After drilling the stinger and boring out the baffles in the airbox a bit, I'm up to 32.5mph on flat ground and it's got a little more zip. I'm a bit reluctant on increasing the
I tried running without the stinger, it was a little loud... I would think that would be the least restricted I could get and there was no change in performance. So at this point, I don't think I'm restricted on the exhaust end, at least not in a way that I can modify easily.
Well, I guess the baffle you drill is there, but the second baffle after the tube is not....
Bitter, I was considering your "speed hole", but my exhaust configuration is a little different from yours. I think that it goes like this, Expansion chamber, (could be another baffle here), baffle with central hole (size?, felt it out with a coat hanger), baffle with offset hole. Stinger has tube attached that fits into offset hole ~ 3/8" id, stinger itself is ~ 1/4" id.So,
Is the proma circuit made for minarelli or would I need to adapt the Puch version? Any idea where I can get one? Mopedshop has them (for the puch), but they're out of stock...
Thanks Bitter, that sounds like a good plan.I already cleaned the points and set the gap so they open right at the first mark on the flywheel. Is that where it needs to be set if I increase the plug gap?
I've got a 1980 Fantic Motor Concorde with a Minarelli motor. Currently it runs very well, plug chops look perfect, and I get a solid 31mph on the flats.I would like to get a little more acceleration out of it and a top end of 35-40 without kitting if possible. Right now it is stock everything except a new rear sprocket (40 tooth - was 45). It has a 14-12 carb. Here's what I'm thi
The front sprocket on my Fantic Concord (Minarelli V1) broke yesterday. I was making a U-turn, gave it some gas, and heard a "pop". The sprocket split between two of the teeth. Has anyone else had this happen? Was this just from a weak spot in the metal or do I need to look for anything else that could have caused this? My chain had a slight twist in it, I guess that could have cont
I use steel tire irons I got at the motorcycle shop. The plastic bicycle ones don't cut it. Also, soapy water helps to lube things up so the tire slides on a little easier. Other than that, a combination of well-applied brute force and a delicate touch so you don't pop the tube (that will really piss you off!).
It's a 80 Fantic Concorde, Veglia speedo.I found a replacement online for $15, but I wanted to make sure I couldn't fix this one first.
So I watched dateline or 20/20 or whatever it was and they talked about tires that sit on the shelf for years and they told how to read the DOT code on the tires.I checked my tires that I just bought last week and they are from 1995!So my question is, would you trust moped tires that were 13 years old?The way to read the code is the last 3 or 4 digits of the DOT....... on the tire. It tells the m
Did you check for gas flow problems? Clogged jet, filter, etc...
Is there any way to dismantle a speedo drive? Mine locks up at the same spot when turning. I'm guessing it is press fit together, should I just buy a new one or is there a way to get into this one?
I think I posted in the wrong forum, but at least it had a catchy name over there...Anyway,A few weeks ago, I picked up a 1980 Fantic Motor Concorde XKE. It is pretty low mileage, the speedo says 380, but it quit working. Sorry, didn't realize there was a separate repair forum because of all the girls distracting me.Feel free to talk freely about chicks and mopeds.
I just started riding, so it's only a matter of time until you have your story...
