Thanks! I hope so! Pass the word if you know any Portland peeps in the market for a ped! Would love to see her go to someone familiar with mopeds.
Selling my 1977 Puch Maxi. Titled and lots of mods. Portland Oregon area. Listed at $950 but will be open to reasonable offers. Here's the Craigslist link:http://portland.craigslist.org/mlt/mcy/5783697594.htmlThanks!
I got my Puch Maxi for $189. Mint and barn fresh. Dude spelled moped wrong (mopad) and because of this, hardly anyone saw the listing. I bought it, cleaned the carb and it started right up. With a little work and mods, I got me a 50+mph mopad!
I sold it, just a few hours ago.
Selling my 1978 Kreidler Flory. Runs perfect and is stock except for a Biturbo exhaust. Always stored indoors. Does about 40mph with my skinny ass on it. Two speed, good daily runner. I ride my Puch daily now, so the Kreidler just sits. Have title for it and plates. Want to sell it locally here in Portland. Asking $400. PM or email if interested.
Yeah, Bats are slow... real slow... I was gonna buy one once. Sure glad people talked me out of it.
If it is moped, most DMV folks are gonna assume it is under 49cc. I have a kit on mine and pretty big pipe and it goes about 50mph. But during the vin check for titling of course I didn't tell them that! I just said the fastest I could get it to go was 32. You'll be fine.
This is good to know! Thanks. Lucky I didn't seize. I should have just ordered some larger jets and then installed the filter.
Well duh. The only reason I didn't upset right off the bat was because this filter is similar to the hi-flow filter I am currently using and I am jetted pretty high already. Gonna have to order some larger jets and try again...
Got a new air filter, Polini high flow blue sponge, installed it with some issues, the rubber mount wouldn't connect snug with my carb and I tightened it as best I could. Put in a fresh plug for a chop, no rejetting yet. Took it around the neighborhood and as soon as I hit 30ish, it bogs down like it's running out of gas. Got home and looked at the plug- bone white and lean, but couldn
Maybe this has been discussed already, I saw on old thread about this back in 2007, but not much feedback on it. Right now I am running an estoril with a 65cc Metrakit, Dellorto 20mm carb and intake, and high flow filter. I have a pretty small low end, mid is decent and I am topping out at about 47-50mph. I have a Puch Maxi. Been thinking about getting a Homoet 6p for a higher top speed, but will
I think this is my new favorite video... Yup. It is.
I used to live in San Jose. I don't remember seeing many mopeds at all. But check neighboring cities like SF for sure. Good luck!
Good to know it holds up well in the rain without the cover, although the reason I bought it was because of the cover. It rains a lot here in Portland and the Malossi filter I'm using now is not good in the rain.
Yeah, this is the one I've just bought. But I plan to use it during the rainy months with the cover on. Is there a huge difference in air flow with cover vs no cover? Do I need to rejet if I ride with the cover off?
I haven't ever played with the needle setting in my carb while tuning, usually just adjust the main jet. Is it recommended to adjust the main jet and then the needle, or adjust the needle setting and then move on to the main jet? Gonna install a new air filter and want to know if I can get more speed out of adjusting the needle. I have a Dellorto PHBG 20 mm carb and have just been using the s
Anyone using this? How does it compare to other hi-flow filters? Right now I have a Malossi PHBG 90 angel E8 hi-flow filter. Works great, but sucks in the rain. Looking for something to ride with through the rainy months. Any thoughts?
What's a good sponge air filter oil? Or does it even matter? Thanks!
Im selling because I never ride it. It just sits. I ride my other peds much more than this one. And I need the $$.
I just replaced my headlight and taillight on my Puch Maxi. They still don't work. The brake light works fine though. Anyone shed some light on this? Thanks in advance!
Exactly! For some reason everyone seemed to know about this but me. I must be really out of the loop here.
Yeah, and I'd rather sell it to someone who has some moped experience. The girl that wants to buy it has never had a moped before and doesn't know a lot about them - not to say she can't learn- and I hope she does. But I want to make sure it's going to a good place, to someone who will take care of it and treat it well. $$ are important but I hate to see nice bikes just go to s
Got the title today! Thanks everyone for all your advice on this. Feels good to be legal :)
Good point here! You are putting a lot of faith into the idea of the dude coming back to resell the moped to you. What if he never shows up? Then the bike goes into the garbage. There are a lot of other people that would respect and properly care for it the way it should be. Tell him to take the bus if he needs temporary transportation.
If the sale falls through with the buyer, I'll put it up on Moped Army and Craigslist for $400. Would prefer to sell it locally but I may be willing to entertain the idea of shipping it somewhere. But not sure if a buyer would want to pay that much extra. I had a moped shipped to Portland from Alabama once and it is expensive.
