Just saw Black Adam. There's a lot of mopeds in this movie, kept seeing motobecane and honda Hobbits mostly in the first half of the movie. Probably the best part of the movie was the moped sightings....
Damn this phone. It's a 1976 Vespa bravo plastic gas tank, not a 1986...
I have rebuilt an old Peugeot speedo. It's possible. Break out the glass and cut up a flat plastic panel from a cars instrument cluster and use that to replace the glass. The rest is a snap.
If you have to clean the sha are you still interested?
1986 Vespa bravo plastic gas tank. Never seen another Vespa plastic gas tank.
Treats doesnt have stuff in my budget :( maybe next tax season...
thats the stock oil measuring cup. My grande has that too. Looks like an old film roll container.
I almost drove to the Reno area to get that bike just for the wheels. Gas prices :(
Ive run across chinese scooters by a company called Geely, the plastics and registration claimed it was a 50cc two stroke, but pull off the plastics, and the top ends had '88cc' on them. The scooters exceeded 50mph. Definitely not a moped by local laws.
Cool found it, address please (PM)
Jbots got it. I put bicycle cables on a ciao just to be able to ride it, but almost hit the side of a school bus. Gave the ciao grande cables, stopped the no stopping issue
You still have the original cable? Send it to MotionPro they can custom make cables, they will send back your original cable and the new one they made. Worked for my old CBR. Think theyre still in the bay area in California
Joe I got one for you. I can get it out of storage tomorrow and send it Saturday
I have one of these. Get a 48 tooth rear sprocket, tomos reed valve, remove exhaust baffle, SHA carb, bore out the intake, hit 30mph. Dont forget to grease your wheel bearings and the big drive pulley!
Please I'm hoping someone has a crusty old vespa variated transmission case I can buy, I have a gear set to give it.
Lmao kelikaku, ive actually done that before, RIP 89 rx7...So this is perfect for practicing, its just a cheap spare parts crank. Its still better than the $30 crank I got from Denny cycles, that sucker had enamel painted on the lobe to make it closer to the intake window, when the enamel flaked off the bike ran like crap...
Stock vespa crankshaft has a R stamped in it. Whats that all about?I know, it's junk, it's just for crank cutting practice
What size pulleys are those?
The kit will make the swingarm pivot smoothly. If you still have lateral play at the pivot, Peugeot engine mount bushings from treats fit almost perfectly.
I have 2 lever choke 15.15 sha clones that I won't use, will those work?
Thank you Leo!!! Ok, digging deeper, and realizing I am also missing nuts and washers for front axles, and bolts to attach the rear wheel to the subframe. Makes me wonder if I forgot a bin of parts at Anthony's...
Sourced pedals and seats and seat posts locally!
Hi, I bought a pile of bravos and the seller must have sold or lost some of it before I got the rest, I'm missing stuff. Maybe someone has another pile or box of vespa leftovers that could make a couple of these rideable? Some things that are missingPedalsSeats, round postEngine mount hardware, boltsSpacers for clutch and variatorLittle bolt/washer dealie thingies that anchor brake cables to
One day 50factory.com (France) will acquire more of these... I had their last one in my basket but could not figure out their shipping system and it slipped from my grasp
Well crap, the lower mount is spaced different than my other metal tank bravo frame. I like the look of the plastic weld kit sibryan was showing. I dont like the idea of trying to re-line the plastic tank, just in case it flexes and separates. The tanks got a crack where the center bolt goes, this might not be easy.
Shaun mentioned going on vacation, but he may be back now
I have a metal tank for it, but have you guys seen this before? I need to post a picture of this. The plastic gas tank uses the two standard mount bolts at the bottom, but theres no mount locations at the top of the tank. instead, the plastic tank uses a bolt that runs through the center, and the bravo frame has a spot for the center bolt. Id rather use the metal tank, especially since I cant find
Ive never had a plastic tank before, this thing creeps me out. I wish it were a regular metal tank, but looks like i'd need to weld on brackets to make that happen...
Thank you hydra and jbot, I will try to clean it out with soapy water and try to weld it shut and re line it!
