Wow man,props,thats amazing work.
My buddy has a '84 KX80 frame with an awesome fork and disk brakes so my buddy would like to put them on his '94 Targa LX.Would this even be possible with some work?
I'm pissed,my bike won't run until mid May.Then I still have to take about a week out to let her rings set.
Hmm sweet...I need to get my bike running god damn...
Wow,finally a constructive post. And yes,I agree with your Hayabusa point...I don't want to talk shit but its funny when a guy is in his late twenties brags about a totally custom moped that passes traffic. So you have a fast moped, congratulations, thats cool. But look at the money spent and then tell me you're honestly happy going 50mph when you could have a sweet 80's,maybe 90'
Its a drag race. His gears are pretty even, the front sprocket looks about the same size as the back sprocket,Id guess around 22 teeth.Stock gears though. My front sprocket has like 12 teeth and my rear sprocket as 41 or 40.Skill well...It doesn't take much skill to drive a moped in a straight line but if it matters we are both good moped riders.
Who's moped do you think would be faster? My friends bike;'94 Tomos Targa LXGoldtip BiTurbo two piece exhaustAirsol(sp?) 64cc kit18mm carburetorRandom sized intake,I don't remember it2 speed automatic with a little trouble getting into 2nd gearIts pretty fast in my opinion.Very fun to ride except when it bogs a bit and takes time to shift over into second. My bike;197? Ahh,I see.Well,if I get stuck I can check the manual and here too.It sucks that I won't be ordering any parts until the 30th.I order my kit, hopefully, that day.I need to find one first...Then later in May I order my carb and possibly pipe and intake. It should be done late May,early June.I'm hoping late May...
I didn't because it seemed pretty straight forward. The wires and wire grommet face up and sit on the case so thats basically all I need to know.It wont screw back on any other way.
I've just read through the manual and its all a breeze except for timing.I may have to have my friend help me more with that.I already took the clutch cover off but thats no big deal.I can torque that back down without any worry.I think I will buy a gasket set though.I don't know what Ill do about bearings.I may find them on here in the buy sell section.
Well this is true.I want to buy a gasket and seal set for my engine.I wanted to buy a bearing set too but thats 50 fucking bucks...I think I'll get the seal set and rebuild it with them.Just to make sure everything is torqued down to correct specs and shit.I have a whole tear down and rebuild manual that I'm making into a book tomorrow so I'll be ok.I'm just really paranoid and
I'll think about it.If I where to completely rebuild the engine and replace seals and shit it would just add on to the time it would take to get the ped running.
I know,thats why I said I didn't in the post I made earlier.
Alright you guys aren't getting exactly what I'm trying to get across.I should of added this first.Heres my parts list so far...Minarelli V1 75cc Polini KitDellorto PHBG Racing Carburetor 19mmMinarelli Polini 20mm Intake ManifoldPuch Bullet Expansion ExhaustWe didn't include these parts in our convo but the main thing he was telling me was that bolting on the kit without case matchi
Would you give the ok to a n00b that wants to case match?
Me and MopedJay where talking about adding a 75cc kit to my Minarelli and he said I won't see any speed increase unless I case and port match.I think thats wrong and I'll gain some power weather I case match or not.Whats the deal?
Wow on one site the 21mm carb is the same price as a 19mm carb...Oh,how well do the choke knobs work on 1977mopeds?I'm going to get one for the carb since I've seen how easy my friend started his Tomos when he had a stock lever operated carb rather than his new cable op.
Thanks for the info.Do they call it 20mm because they measure the outside diameter?I'll look for a 19mm instead.I honestly would rather not have a hard to tune race carb in the first place.
It's called Speed Stick,it's not expensive. But seriously, this thread hurt my head.
The pipe is temporary. Its just something I'll use to get it running and driving for a while.I'll replace it with a nicer exhaust later on.I really like the Homoet 6P.
Well...it must be done!I think I'll definitely get a Scorpion exhaust sometime in the future.
Well I'd definitely buy a nice exhaust one of these days but not exactly any time soon.If I want this bike to run within the next month I can't be buying a Scorpion or Mamba.I'll have to settle for a Puch Biturbo.
I'm going to be building a Minarelli engine soon so I'd just like some feedback on this setup of parts.Polini 75cc kitDellorto PHBG Racing Carburetor 21mmMinarelli Polini 20mm Intake ManifoldNGK B8HS Sparkplug (Cold)Puch Bullet Expansion ExhaustAlso, does anybody know what I should jet it to so I don't blow it all up at the start? Its a decently modded motor so I'd rather not bl
"smoke a bowl"Already did and I was fucking ruined.I was freaking out about my hands feeling fake or something. Now I want to sleep...
I think I'm going to make a flange or bracket to bolt the exhaust to the kick stand bolt. That will probably measure up right.
RATT eh...More thrash metal, less hair metal.
I've found out that a Puch exhaust will fit a Minarelli with some drilling on the flange so I was wondering if this exhaust in particular will fit on my moped or will I need to make modifications? Heres the exhaust and I've attached a picture of my moped on the side the exhaust bolts on.!http://i211.photobucket.com/albums/bb283/IHatePhotoBucket_015/Puch-Bullet.gif!
Puch pipes huh...I'll look into that for sure because damn it's hard for me to find a nice exhaust for the Minarelli for less than like $150.
Know where I can order one?I found one site but it was for a scooter type thing.
