Time to dust this thread off. Does anyone remember the small, independent short movie about a young man that has a moped repair shop out of his garage, where he proceeds to fall in love with a female customer? It was actually pretty cute. Can't find it for the life of me.Also, another independent movie about a moped club where the one female member deals with a sexual assault incident? That o
A buddy of mine was building a Gila E50 for his Magnum a little before the Landsquids Moped Parade rally in 2011. He had never really work like that before, but used MA to guide him. Days before the rally I help him put the finishing touches on his bike.We fire it up for the first time it it idles nicely. Hop on, hit the throttle, and it sputters. Spent a good while running through everything. Rea
Many years of wisdom from Jason there!!! Happy wife, happy life.

> Georgios Panayiotou Wrote:> -------------------------------------------------------> Ive heard about someone putting a moped in a tree—classic.Happened to me at the Bullies Free Rally. I was actually impressed by Dirty Dans use of knots and leveraging. No damage to the bike either, so it was all in good fun.
Thanks Saab, that was exactly the problem with both (minus some slight upjetting on the one bike). Both of them had so much gunk buildup, that there wasn't any indication of a hole! I have way more experience with PHBG tuning than SHA, which is still funny that I missed it
So I'm a little rusty with my mopeds, so I thought I'd throw this out there. I have two A35 Tomos mopeds I'm working on (99, 01, both post points) that won't idle. One has been parked for a couple years, the other for about 5 years. I've cleaned both their carbs out, very thoroughly, and put fresh gas in them. Both completely stock (sans biturbo I might add). Both of them a
Hey Kiel, if you need anything, shoot my an PM. I've got a shit ton of Moby parts nestled nicely in a massive box.
Damn, I didn't even see that one pop up. Good catch!
It's all about the matching helmet!
Snapped 3 piston rings on the same cylinder/piston on my first ever build. Realized after getting pissed off at the engine that there are those little pins in the ring lands, and you know, the ring is suppose to line up with those.....duh.
Shit, wish I could make it! Nice to see you back up and running. We need to shoot the shit sometime about peds. Oh, and if you have any PedShed shirts left, I'd still love to buy one
You are doing the moped Gods work!
Damn Rebel, I guess I'm stuck in my old ways. Gotta use that new fangled kijiji. I honestly keep forgetting about it.
Ya, clean, but not "I'll sacrifice a years worth of Molson and poutine for that!" clean.
That Malaguti in the pic, did it happen to have a weird, semi-auto transmission? Don't see many Malaguti's
No worries, frostbite is synonymous with cold, cold is synonymous with Canada, Frostback is slang for Canadian. We ride mopeds in the cold, and risk frostbite. Illuminati confirmed. Also, learn all the ins and outs on this bike before starting your collection. When you've got it running right, go riding, find a nearby rally and join in. You'll get hooked!
Joshua, having had many mopeds, let me give you some quick advice. Do lots of reading on your mopeds, listen to the honest advice (you'll get sarcasm, don't take it personal), and when you get that bike running smoothly, NEVER sell it. I miss my FA50 often.
Honestly though, I love random moped parafanalia like this.
And if the little ladies name is Darlene, your set!
One of the many reasons I miss MA. This thread has it all!
What's weird about the carb setup? I'm new to these fancy PHBGs. I know the needles don't go by numbers like jet sizes.
Got a Malaguti Commuter, 3 speed semi-auto. Super fun to ride, but takes a little getting used to (gear changes are done by twisting the throttle). Need to put some work into it this year and get it going!
Thanks Moby :). This was my spare no expense build. Wanna see if I can do the same with another Moby on much less this time. I find it funny how many people fudge numbers. When I brought this bike to Tot fest, I thought I'd be able to stay near the front, if I was lucky. Turns out it was one of the fastest bikes, lol.Max, I'm running a W7 needle, with a 262AU atomizer. I was going to bum
Sorry, you're right Moby, it was GPS'ed at 64mph.Yes Ryan, Polini cases. I'll do a vacuum test once I have a working gauge.Nope Eric, straight thermosyphon. Hence the clear lines. Super cool to watch it at work!Alright max, I'll bump the main a few sizes larger. I'm doing a mass Treats order, so I'll check for a pickup as well. Timing is Just under 2.0mm btdc. Not sur
The thing I find weird is I had been rocking the Moby at rallies with no issues. Topped out at around 70. Even raced it a bit at Tot fest a few years ago. Ran great. The water cooled head has been keeping the temps down. It just started this for no reason it seems. Here's the pics as well. Sorry, lappy is broken, so only links :(.
2nd lowest setting on the needle would be richer, not leaner. Less of the needle blocking the jet. I'll snap a pic in a minute after I get some food in my belly.
Ya, I was leaning towards that as well. I bumped the jet to a 90, plus sprayed out the carb, gunna test it tomorrow. Any thoughts on the intake bushing? Is this common for PHBGs?
