I tried to make it 122.5 degrees ATDC, and I'll definitely be polishing it up tomorrow man. I did cut the cylinder down just a bit but I'm not sure if its needed because it was level with the top of the piston at BDC. Funny thing is my 30mph version, the cylinder says 30mph and it is already pre milled. I did a bit of milling to the aluminum head but it was already pretty close so I thin

Before I go on to talk about the port work, I want to let those of you who have been following my bat's problems know that the reeds work great! I took them off and yes I sucked on em, and they seat/hold compression awesomely. They seat better than I remembered from last time I pulled em out. Now, this is only a rough dremel job but it has the correct vertical dimensions and the deburr of the

http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/ctaf/displayitem.taf?Itemnumber=47257Harbor freight man! These things are actually very accurate (the digital dial).10 bucks. or 15% off coupons are easy to find so 8.50 bucks lol.

Just for future referance aph, what size kit was that head for? 50cc?Awesome proof man, looks b/a.
Didd3rson — 14 years ago
Ah you mean I suck air thru em lol. I will try it. Sucks. If it won't seat then it's time for new reeds completely? Can i fix them, if not where do i get some! They look nice and chrome still. minimal rust on the 'pedals' i guess using your terminology :).

Dude this is a great idea. I'll get you m48 measurements unless someone beats me to it. Can we also include cylinder diameter in this thread please!

I used the fish tank tube stuff I had lying around after buildign an HHO fuel cell. It's very flexible when you bend it, but not flexible in compression as to move the balls around to one side or the other.Lol schwien, I don't know if I'd even still have my moped if it wasn't for Millers Cycles! They actually carry a lot of moped things.I'll check the carb and actually mea

Bah why doesn't this forum have the edit feature!!Yeah i just spray bombed those spoke wheels, they were so rusty I'd have to spend hours w/ a wire wheel to get em nice again.I also forgot to mention I have done the clutch mod. With a little less than half the balls remaining in the spring. I love it!

Forgot to answer, my setup is stock s25, uni filter, 2.5mm btdc timing, and the bullet. Nothing else is changed from oem stuff. Stock head/compression at the moment also.

It's not that bad wayne, 77 bux to my door 25 for the weld. I'm not spending money on anything else at the moment since i'm in school, so I don't mind lol. Trial and error.Although I did set the timing exactly at 2.5mm before TDC. This was in the wiki, but I don't know if it will work with a stock compression/port timing. Don't worry man, I'll do the ports this w

Wayne if you consider going down hill at more than a 30* angle top speed, then it's 32mph.It's sad I didn't see really any improvement with top speed. I may need the 60 jet, but even with the s25 carb and a new hone/ring in july, she's not that fast on the flats :(. 27.5 mph average flatland speed. I could play with the timing because like I said I think it's off, but it i

Sry bat guys I forgot to put these up. I didn't get a video though, it's too windy I'd blow away!!http://i116.photobucket.com/albums/o37/didderson/100_3550.jpg!!http://i116.photobucket.com/albums/o37/didderson/100_3553.jpg!

Hah alright I will get a full pic soon but man it's cold. I'll stop whining and get it done 2morrow.It runs pretty much the same actually as far as performance gains go. I already had my baffles removed and if you remember, I was using a mountain dew can with a hole drilled in the bottom for a silencer. I have a feeling the real gains will come when I tune my port timing later on this mo

Thanks man, and yea you're right. We tried to keep the header length about the same as where the stock muffler/expansion was located. It ended up being a bit long, but I won't have to fight much with the pedals to get them to fully spin around.

Title kinda sounds like a love story, but I'm just posting these pics because I got my pipe on a week ago. I'm running a 62 jet in the stock s25 encarwi, and I can't tell if it 4 strokes anymore and I also need a new spark plug for a plug chop. I'm pretty sure it was running kinda lean before I put the 62jet in.Also I messed w/ my points and ended up knocking back the timing a

Dude do that clutch mod pronto. It'll increase your low end by allowing the clutch to engage at a higher rpm giving u more power off the line.Just take half the balls out or about half. This guys site: http://www.northernmichigansolar.com/batavus/batavusshow.htmhas a great video presentation on how to do it.I got my pipe welded on today, very happy now it's time to tune! I gue

I'm just checking but I hope you have messed around with the idle screw before changing ur float height, but after you make mods it changes so you're probably on the right track, im a few steps behind u in mods atm.
Didd3rson — 14 years ago
I don't think you'll be able to go 35+ with just 'bolt ons' to an m48, but if you gear it for higher speed you can probably do it, just will take longer to get there because you'll have less HP/power per rpm increase. Crazy wayne would probably be able to help you more here, but really the trick to speeding up a 2 stroke is to change the port timing, which you can have som

Nice man, I'm stuck trying to find someone to weld this pipe up. It won't slip over the 30mph header...
Didd3rson — 14 years ago
nope I didn't cut anything on my s25 carb yet, just polished. So I was correct in my thinking I guess or you'd have corrected me?Do u have a website with this stuff on it am I missing something here? Maybe like one huge old thread that u did.
Didd3rson — 14 years ago
Woah woah. Wayne you really are crazy. I don't have much of a clue why this helps or even where the hole is in that pic. must be what the red thing is jammed into. does this create more of a vacuum at the top of the float bowl (by having the hole in the carb area) that the fuel doesn't have as much pressure to force it through the jet? I think I'm starting to get it, but you have to
didd3rs — 14 years ago
thanks doods. That will help me rebuild in the future! I really need to get the old rusty pedals off without bending my crank even more... I don't think it was my hammering that bent it though because it is bent toward the pedal. Is there anywhere to get new pedal crank arms or are we stuck using the OE ones?
Didd3rson — 14 years ago
Also I have never succeeded in removing my crank and that's what is holding me back from getting the engine case out of the frame. If you have any tips on how to get that big pulley out of the way post ur thoughts man.

Yeah man the pipe came! !http://i116.photobucket.com/albums/o37/didderson/1122081320.jpg!I ran it with the air filter today and she's 2 mph slower w/o the air restriction, so I think my jet is too small already! Also I can tell the mountain dew can exhaust is holding me back... can't wait to get this pipe on! I'm really hoping the 2 stroke moped/motoXbike shop has bing jets (Miller
Didd3rson — 14 years ago
Yeah timo that would be too advanced. Either step up and get midgrade gasoline or premium which has more resistance (octane rating) to pinging, or back off on that spark advancement.Your engine runs w/o pinging when you're going faster because the motor spins fast enough to overcome the 'over-advanced timing' if I may. When the rpms slow, the gas is igniting a tad too early and this
Didd3rson — 14 years ago
I believe you have it all figured out. If you truely are running lean at wot and rich at idle, that would be the correct thing to do. But I have no real experience w/ bing sizes quite yet, I'm waiting for mine to come in so I can also tune my setup.

The 78 batavus starflite thread rolling around here has a pic of my UNI filter part number UP4200 on it. It is technically 2 inch diameter opening but it's very stretchy. My carb opening is 2.15" and it fits really easily, so you would probably be fine using it.
Didd3rson — 14 years ago
Thanks for the info man. I got my filter from a local UNI dealer called M & S sales and service. google em, they're from New holland, PA. They're a Suzuki dealer. Snowmobiles, ATV's etc. Any 2 stroke vehicle dealer should be able to get them for you. I was gawking at their hyabusa... yummmm. Thanks for the tips on ordering from treats, and suggested jet sizes too!
