I've ripped the entire bike apart now too paint it .
Here's the two I took. I've put 80 miles on it since the repair. It's holding tight. Doesn't seem too effect the performance at all. Did a plug chop and it's running beautifully. I'm not a small guy at all and it pulls my 300 pound but at around 25 mph on a flat surface. I'm happy with it. I just wanted it to work.
I know this is an old thread but I was curious how you went about removing material from the head and how much?
Got it fixed. Pressed a steel tube through the broken piece and into the case that is coated in in hi temp permanent loctite . I also notched the piece too match the ports in the case. Works great ! I took some pics but can't remember how too upload.
I'm thinking of maybe threading the case and fashioning a new tube on my lathe. I considered tig welding but can't get too one side to place a bead. Threading it seems the only way at the moment. That is if there is enough material there to cut threads. More as I figure stuff out.

Yep, I want one! I got to drive a hell cat when they came out and that was absolutely awesome! I can only imagine how sweet the demon is!
Check the grommet/spacer that goes on the end of the intake for cracks. When it starts dying put your hand firmly against the carb. If it catches itself, you have a vacuum/air leak somewhere. If it's starting I doubt the decompression valve is the culprit. Also check the torque on the head bolts/nuts. I've had them back off before displaying your exact symptoms. Good luck!
Recently picked up a Vespa grande and the intake port was snapped clean off. The previous owner tried repairing it with some brass tubing but he didn't fasten it with anything. I'm just curious how common this is and what you did too repair it? I've owned a few piaggio/ Vespa bikes and I've never ran into this.

I'm seriously rethinking this wcc build. The chain alignment is horrible! They made the bicycle with narrow rims causing interference with the chain from the tire. If I move the engine to counter the interference then you can't pedal because the crank arm hits the engine case. The only solution I see working is to run a narrower tire. Which defeats building a chopper in the first place!
Do you have spark? The CDI units are junk that come with these kits!

I'm currently building a wcc chopper bike. I have to say it's the absolute worst frame to build on! I'm using hub adapters on my bike because the rubber rag joint sucks! Been toying with the idea of running a 26 tooth sprocket as opposed to a stock 44.
Like the title says. Looking for either. Prefer the za50 but my bike came with the e50. Need a complete engine including carb. In AZ.
How many folks here have them? I have 4 going on 5 . I have found that I really like building them and with recent changes in the designs, have found the newer engines to be pretty reliable. I am referring to the two stroke China models and not the 4 stroke kits. I have no experience with those kits. Granted they aren't no puch or piaggio, but they are just as much fun.
Can i use any o-ring? What size o-ring do i get? I removed my jet and noticed the o-ring was cracked. i guess i could just match it up to one.
My neighbor sold me his 78 express about a month ago and after some tinkering and replacing some missing carb parts I am ready to try and start it. I have done everything thinkable with the mix idle/screw I have let the carb soak in berrymans I flushed and poked and prodded every hole clean on that carb twice! my maxi sport with a za50 could haul my then 280 lb carcass up a 25 degree hill from a stop no problem at 25mph.
