There's a small bolt on the bottom of the crankcase to drain it. Just remove that bolt to drain the contents. The sabre's didn't use a head gasket.

I've just parted out 4 Sabres, pretty sure I have what you need. Is yours the early or late model Sabre?

I've got several different water transfer decals for the Sears bikes made by Puch in the '50's and '60's. Cost is $5.00 each including postage and decal application instructions. I can do paypal or cash payments only. I've got a few more but MA will only let me post 3 attachments. PM me for a complete list.

Nice red MB5 for sale in NE Ohio. Clean, titled bike that runs, stops and turns like it should. Around 3,200 miles, new Micheline Gazelle tires, new tubes, new Honda headlight (hi and low beam both work), aftermarket expansion chamber, missing one mirror. Not ridden regularly for the past 3 years, battery is weak but the bike easily kickstarts with the weak battery. Cash or paypal only, no trades

Any more progress on this thing?

That's one of the "deluxe" models, a pretty desireable one. Fairly sure it's not a 1965 model, more like late '50's or early '60's. 35 seems a bit high, high 20's is more realistic. I've got head gaskets if you need one. I've also got several different owners manuals for the Allstates but not one specific to that model.Nice find!

The owners manual for my 810.94001 is dated 58/6. On many of my other Sears - Allstate - Gilera bikes, the owners manual date was the date (year) the bike was made. While that's certainly not the definitive answer on this moped, on some of the other sears bikes I've owned, that date was verified with a title and a sales receipt. I have a 1982 Honda MB5 for sale. Bike has a clean Ohio title in my name. It has a new Honda headlight that works as it should on both hi and low beams and a set of new Michelin Gazelle tires. The inside of the tank is excellent. It has an aftermarket 50cc performance pipe installed. The seat is very nice with no holes or scratches and the MB5 logo is bright. The added left rear footpeg has been r

Chassis #1Has forks, front wheel (some rust), tank, handlebars, both handlebar switches seem to function normally, front fender, rear shocks, main wiring harness appears complete, clutch and throttle cables move smoothly, rear wheel is wrong and is there only for ease of moving the bike. The rear wheel is NOT included. Tank has surface rust but I see no flaking rust. $75.00Chassis #2No forks, good

It's one of the rigid frame models, not a highly resirable model. The seat is wrong, the taillight is wrong and what the heck is that thing under the seat? $400 sounds high with all that would be needed to make it "correct". The price of a correct seat cover, frame, taillight and proper rear rack might put this out of reach for what it's really worth.

I get my facts mostly from old Sears catalogs that I have and the fact that I've been dealing with them ever simce buying my first bike, a 1969 Sears 106SS that was probably a leftover 1966 model. Sears first showed a Puch moped in the 1957 catalog that I have. No brake light was on the bike, but there was on the 1958 model.
Bill Murar — 9 years ago
Your moped is a 1957, the first year for the Allstate Puch moped. They differed from the 1958 models in that they didn't have a brake light incorporated into the rear light assembly. That's why there's no "dome" light on the top. An optional brake light assembly was offered that included the brake switch that was attached to all 1958 and newer models. The 810.94000 was 195

Chris,What you have is called an Allstate Sport 60 Moped. It's not a pedal moped, that's just what they called it. Other than the gearing, it's the same motor as the Sears Compact scooter. I've got some Compact parts and maybe a reprint owners/parts manual of the Sport 60. email me off list and we can talk.Bill
