That malossi kit is AWESOME, I have my PA50II in the forties with JUST that
G — 15 years ago
I just bought a Malossi 70cc kit off of Ebay, and it was SOO worth the money, I only weigh like 130 LBS. but I can get up into the mid forties NO problem, I think I could go faster if I had the nerve to do it, but I need to wait for my new brakes to come in and probably some new tires too. My uncle who is a full grown adult, probly like 185 or something, was riding with his GPS and said that he go

Well it's not so much the fact that its so expensive, but it's the fact that the day before I got the kit I bought five gallons of regular gas and I don't have a car so I will just have a five gallon container of gas and the only thing for me to use it on is the lawn mower- I mean I don't really mind mowing the lawn, but I don't like it THAT much.

I just put a new Malossi 70cc kit on my honda PA50II, it says in the instructions to use premium gas in it. I don't really want to pay the extra money to buy premium gas if i don't need to. Will it knock if i don't use premium? Is there any other advantage to running premium?PS- the box says that the compression ratio on the new cylinder is 10.5:1 I know that that is the biggest fac

that bike is soooo awesome... I love it.

Well I was going to get the 70cc DR, and that 's what I ordered, but overnight TREATS ran out of them so he upgraded me to a 70cc Malossi for free. I thought that was pretty awesome of him.

Hey MADTOWN I know what the problem is with ur PA50. I had the same problem. Inside the variator the weights are little metal rollers with plastic things on the side the must help them slide. When these break because they get old the roller weight will roll to one side or the other and get jammed but never get to the top so it never gets to full gear. All you have to do to fix them is open up the v
G — 15 years ago
oh yeah, by variator mod, do you mean the one where you cut it so the rollers move up higher?
G — 15 years ago
No shit, that's awesome, I'm gonna buy it.

I was thinking about buying one of those 70cc DR kits from treatsHQ. I was wondering if anyone could tell me about them a little bit. What the powerband is like, good quality, and how much I would need to upjet or maybe downjet to run it?I thiknk that when I first get it I will be running it with the stock muffler because I won't have anything wlse to run, but soon I will be building a custom

I think that the mystery is solved, I found another program that gave me what seemed to be a pretty normal looking pipe. Well actually I found it in an old post.PS I think that I got it attached for anyone that wants to use it.
G — 15 years ago
Will someone please give be some measurements then? I'm afraid to do the picture thing because being off by an inch in length will move the RPM peak up like 500 RPMS, so the little mistakes can really add up.

I read the Expansion chamber design section in Jenner's book. I don't think that it seems any more modern than the program that I designed the chamber on automatically. It says right in there that you should expand the pipe at about 8 degrees for maximum power recovery, even though most of those pipes in the puch section expand at way more than that. I don't know what to do.
G — 15 years ago
I'm not really sure what to think now, because when I look at the puch exhausts that are listed in the wiki they arn't even close to the proportions that bell or jennings describe. take the tecnigas next for example, the header, which is supposed to be no more that 11 times the width of the exhaust port long is definitely longer than that. the diffuser also opens up at way more than 10 d

You need to add the top speed in a column
G — 15 years ago
I looked at the diffuser angle with my protractor, it's a three stage, gut it goes out at approximately a 7 degree angle, this is what is suggested for a pipe with a pretty wide power band. I guess its worth a shot. It seems like all the math is right, it just doesn't look like anything I have ever seen before.

I am going to be building an expansion pipe for my Honda PA50II. I am doing this for two reasons, one because there are no bolt on pipes that I can get, at least with the Leo Vince on backorder, and two because I feel like it.I have used two different design softwares and gotten similar results with both- the pipe is really long and skinny. on the design software that I like better, a program by I

If you are looking for stock replacement parts go to wemoto.com it is a UK site that sells parts for all kinds of bikes and has REALLY good prices. I ordered a set of rings for my PA50 along with several other parts and all the parts combined including shipping were still cheaper than if I had just bought the rings off of Ebay.I was also REALLY surprised when my parts came to me in Michigan within

You will have to check you jetting for sure, I think that E85 actually runs something like 11:1 stoichiometric, maybe a little richer, but I could be wrong. the other thing that you'll have to check is whether or not 2-stroke oil will dissolve in it. To make it work you might have to run castor oil or somethin. If you run that stuff you will lose economy but you will actually gain power becaus

What kind of increases could you expect from light porting while still running the stock pipe? And what about with an expansion?
G — 15 years ago
The higher speed could be a contributing factor... my best guess would be that the higher speed, which is obviously caused by the engine turning faster, is also causing the magneto to turn faster because it is attached to the engine. This would cause more power to be produced which still has to go through the same fuse, causing it to blow.PS this is just a guess and I could be very wrong.PPS Chang

I have this exact same problem... except the stand part, that's kinda weird.
G — 15 years ago
Couldn't you just stretch those springs out a little to find kind of a happy medium?
G — 15 years ago
I gotta hear about how that spree head goes.... that sounds cool.

I have a PA50 with a stock cylinder that I want to tune for some more speed. I was wondering what kind of speed I could get out of it while still using the stock cylinder and carb. I want to port the engine pretty well and I'm going to make a custom expansion chamber to try and get the best speed I can. I want to order some stiffer clutch springs from 50cc.nl so that low end torque won't
G — 15 years ago
Yeah.. that will be tough. I might just end up routing it right around the cylinder like a proma, but I'm not sure yet.
G — 15 years ago
Yeah... after I posted this I looked at what it would take to do 40 mph with the specs that are in the shop manual I have... about 10,000 rpms. This seems pretty high up there, but I think that it might be pretty attainable because my uncle said that it used to do 35 stock... for those of you wondering, he was pretty light, but then again so am I.I have pretty much decided that I am going to stay

This summer I am hopefully going to be designing and constructing an expansion chamber for my Honda PA50. I know that it would be a lot simpler to buy one, but I want the experience, and I also don't want to invest too much money into a moped that I got for free. The one thing that I need to know to construct one is about many rpms my engine will be running, and I was wondering if anyone coull

I was just hoping that someone knew a website that I could get them from, because there are no Honda Dealers near my house.
