Forum: Performance
I'm using the HPI that treats sells for the motobecane. The kit is a malossi 50cc gp1 with a max rotation of 12000 rpm. Treats also sells this kit for $195.00 AV10.

If you are facing the hpi -your on the right side of the bike, from this point the crank is turning to the right. This av10 I believe spins in the same direction as a puch.

so I set the piston to top dead center, and then dropped 2mm back and set the hpi for a right turning engine. This will work if moby is a right turning engine.

Aaron I really don't like the electrical systems and there interchangeable parts, there finicky to say the least. The a55cylinder is off my street mate. I have two tomos engines that it will fit on. 18. doppler and malossi variator alignment help

Kevin Kelley — 11 years ago
Forum: Performance
How do you set up the spacing on this set up . I bought the spacers and don't know where the belt needs to travel on the clutch pulley. There are two cir- clips on one side of the shaft and one on the other side This shaft helps space the doppler clutch pulley, the malossi variator is right next to the case with no spacer. Any help with this spacing problem would be much appreciated.

Thanks Glenn that is a great amount of info, now I have to decide which way to go. The spring is expensive, and i have one. The bracket is not that expensive, so I will do the spring first. After the spring I will get the 40 lbs. damper and will work from there. I still have to set up a launch leaver. Once I see these set ups in photos it helps, but the 3-d view works best for me. thanks again, K

Thanks Tim, I do have a 6 star from a Motobecane. I was hoping not to have to fabricate a new brake stop. I put a hobbit front end on my Moto. and thought I could find someone with the same set up, and now moving on to a new bike. Let me look up the grande snowflake and judge its adaptability. Thanks kevin kelley RVA.
