Hey Rebel. So I am ok yo just flip it and tune of the rings are in danger of snagging? Will they bike still run and perform the same?

How do I find out what atomizer and bushing? I will check the needle when I get home.
Pat Bausemer — 10 years ago
Nope it wasnt broken before, ran fine actually. Just sold my old setup while I was waiting for my new stuff to come in, they shipped me the wrong stuff, so i had to wait longer, etc etc.

If it is as simple as just trimming the windows then that is not a big deal. I remember pics of the piston crown being resurfaced and it seemed like it was getting a bit rediculous. I will do some searching, still interested in what others have done, maybe some tuning specs too? I just got a whole new setup so its pretty tough. I used the tuning spreadsheet to get a good idea.Setup74cccase matched

Ya I basically want to know if it will run like it should just flipped. Or if I MUST do what Rebel had illustrated for the bike to run the right way. To be honest, I would rather just flip the piston so it is facing the exhaust if this will turn into another big project for me. I have been without my moped for far too long.
Pat Bausemer — 10 years ago
Ya, usually how it is. People who run this kit usually turn it the opposite way since the piston rings comes really close to the transfer port if it is pointing to the exhaust. Just looking for some insight.

When you flipped your piston so that the arrow is facing the intake port (so that the rings do not snag the transfer port), did you have to do anything to the piston itself? OR did you just flip it and it was all good? Got my bike together, it will start up, wont idle, and will only accelerate to like 5mph. Troubleshooting and tuning time, just want to make sure I am ok to just flip the piston aro

I have somebody interested in everything else besides the SHA so this can be arranged if he follows through on the deal. $50 for the SHA with intake plus shipping, $45 if you do not need the intake. What size jet do you need? I can include one for you if I have the right size. I will let you know.

Drop your jet down to a 59

Ya I found that...ordered it! Thanks dude
Pat Bausemer — 10 years ago
I just ordered the G3 pipe. I have heard rumors that you can still use your pedals and want to see what kind of work needs to go into cutting the frame to make this work. I know i would have to lose my kickstand but would like to be able to keep the pedals functional if possible. Just trying to figure out what needs to be done to cut the frame.

Looking to replace my SHA 15.15 with a PHBG 19mm carb on my moby, can I keep the shorty intake that was on the 15.15 or do I need to switch out for something that fits the PHBG?

Kyle,Just to give you a little background on my bike...I just got it this summer and have been plucking away trying to eventually get a 45mph bike. I bought a 50v with the fast cylinder (30mph version).Parts15.15 dellorto SHAShorty IntakeSims ExhaustI also got rid of the electrical gremlins that occurred by hard-wiring the bike. Now this is a great starting point but to be honest, I did not gain m

Did they make three different cylinders for the A B and C models or does the extra speed from the C model come from other parts other than the cylinder? When looking at this wiki page i do not see anything about a different cylinder or anything.http://www.mopedarmy.com/wiki/50_Speed_Categories
Pat Bausemer — 11 years ago
So I currently have the "fast" cylinder 50V. I stripped out my exhaust port by accident (BOOO) so I grabbed a new cylinder off of somebody on MA. Question is, is my cylinder the same as the one I just bought or did I just downgrade? This is the cylinder I boughthttp://www.1977mopeds.com/product/1468/Motobecane-AV7-Stock-Topend/
Pat Bausemer — 11 years ago
Oh and it must be the "fast cylinder" 30mph version.
Pat Bausemer — 11 years ago
Like the title says, anybody have a stock AV7 cylinder that I can throw onto my Moby with everything included (not just the casing)?
Pat Bausemer — 11 years ago
Oh and before I hardwired it all my lights would work but the bike would stall whenever I would hit the brake.
Pat Bausemer — 11 years ago
Hey guys,So earlier this week I was having problems with my bike...it was not idling. Every time I would hit the brakes the bike would want to stall out. So right then I knew I had a wiring problem. Well today I hardwired my bike. Went from the headlight to the magneto then to the taillight. the tailight and headlight grounds are both going to the engine to ensure a strong ground. After the hardwir

Oh and just to let everyone know who looks at this in the future...it had nothing to do with my bike trying to idle....it was when I hit my brakes that the bike would stall. Whenever I got the bike to fire up....if I hit the brake to stop the wheel from moving while on the kickstand it would die due to a crappy switch or ground.
