Any idea if this will fit a 77 or 78?
Yeah, I meant both case halves. I'm sure it's not difficult, just don't want to commit my case to this particular kit and figured if someone already had one they had moved on from, I wouldn't need to commit mine.
Anyone got one they would like to get rid of?
Yes, at idle the plug is rich af. However, when I did a plug chop it was white as snow. Just didn't put a pick of it.
Don, it is a 15.15. I know it should be running super rich with this jet, but plug is showing super lean. I can't find any air leaks, so I am baffled
I don't really see it smoking more than any other two stroke I have owned and the smoke is not white from what I can tell.
Would that cause a lean condition at higher speeds?
Back at it with the NC50. BP5HS PLUG, Dellorto carb with 68 jet. Fuel pump blocked off; stock exhaust. Sprayed carb cleaner everywhere(intake, head, base gasket, etc) and no leaks and still showing lean. However I am pretty sure it is four stroking at 25 mph (WOT)...makes a bogging sound, stops, BOGS again, stops, etc.Video explains more of what is going on
Attached is a pic from the nc50 manual showing a little light device (have also seen them with buzzers that you use to determine when your points are opening/closing. Why aren't these used more often. I always see people mentioning using cigarette paper to check for when the points are opening. Wouldn't the light be more accurate?
I will buy a rubber stopper from the hardware store when I get a free moment and see if that changes things. While I am asking questions, does anyone know what is with the exhaust that is on it? It looks stock besides the multiple holes in the body of the exhaust. I thought maybe an attempt to de restrict it, but it looks too uniform to be a backyard job. The second picture is another exhaust I
Wrapped foam from a pre-filter on the existing air filter and it didn't change the lean condition at all. I think at this point I am just going to plug the oil plug and premix
Wonder what it will cost? I work for the State of Michigan and they do green initiative grants. One year, they bought a Segway for a neighboring park. I should do a grant proposal if they do come to the states (and are reasonably priced)

So I just did a plug chop and the results were not good. Lean like crazy. Surprised I didn't seize. The choke cable and plunger did come out of the carb (the threads of the plastic are stripped. Pretty sure the oil pump is working (I just cleaned it, installed it and bled it today. What are my options? Would I just be further ahead by doing an oil pump delete and getting a dellorto or mi
Anyone just say screw it and run a bicycle light for a main headlight? The Cree LEDs are typically brighter than a 6v bulb any how.The reason I ask is because I am missing the headlight assembly for a nc50 I just picked up and OEM assemblies on ebay are out of this world.
These still for sale? I would be interested in the nc50 one (I believe it is the one that looks like a flaccid penis)..how much?
Just picked up this ratty 1978 Express last night and am trying to figure out the wiring under the seat. I think I have it figured out, but please correct me if I am incorrect. Ok, so obviously the battery is missing, which would explain not having functionality in the headlight or taillight (also horn?). I don't see any wiring that would even run to a battery, but I think they took the po
How close are you to Madison?
I have a rear wheel from a 1980 nc50
1980 nc50. Spring looks good.
Oh, ok. I missed that. Silly question, how do you know if the spring is broken. I have a case from an 1980 nc50, but wouldn't want to sell it unless I knew the spring was good.
I knew what that was before even clicking on your link, lol
