if it makes ya feel better im using these parts to refurbish a sparta buddy with zero miles on it. looks like it was ganked right off the showroom floor... still has the original price tag on it. unfortunately somebody took the wheels, ignition, and some other stuff right off it. this moped never even got the chance. so a somewhat beat Foxi is being decommissioned to put at least one nice mope

im interested in cdi boxes, and well whole ignition setups too. especially if the flywheel looks remotely close to fitting on a moped crankshaft. i'd take one off an e-ton, some guy at the scrap yard rides one there pretty much every day so it must be decent. i thought it was the beever though?

There is probably not an oil pump. You can tell by checking for a two-stroke oil reservoir, or a gear-driven pump on your engine. Based on the picture in your profile, your Pinto has neither. So go ahead and mix 50:1 as usual.I _think_ i've seen a single speed with an oil pump, but for the most part you'd only find the oil pump on the two-speed ZA50s.. maybe some E50s too im not sure.

TomosUSA shipping is impressively fast, always on my doorstep within 3-5 business days of putting in the order... and you're even closer to TomosUSA than me.Expect some light assembly, however it will come with a basic "To Do" list and the factory tool kit... a spark plug wrench and screwdriver combo. you'll need to install the ha

Im going to try to add it to the wiki here. The page is new and still up for edits.. I'm open to feedback, would like to make this page as informative and helpful as possible. Parts needed for a 1980 Sparta Buddy. Need a nice set of chromey rims. A fat sachs header would be nice. Need a flywheel, maybe a stator plate w some parts. let me know what ya got, i know there are lots of these things out there. all this stuff is going on this bike, surprisingly enough has 0.0 miles on it... thats the price tag from the dealership hanging on the handlebars.

vibration could be an issue, but like i mentioned im basing this on a set that i ran on a stock moby a while ago. my old roomie bought a yellow moby from some rando dude who decided to whip up some alu bushings. they looked profesh, and felt great on the stock bike. granted im going to be pushing higher RPMS, but they felt so normal they justified me trying it on a faster ped.not worried amount

aaand there you have em. i left both long... the stator side one is especially long so i wont have to use that long spacer anymore. one less thing to fall and scatter all over the floor when you drop your engine. they are also long because i might incorporate a retaining ring groove into them once i decide on my spacing. hooray.. only took me a year to get around to it.
Stephen Pamboukes — 10 years ago
just when i was thinking i'd never get around to actually making these....
Stephen Pamboukes — 10 years ago
its not a fixed stator. like i said i set the gap and timing, first i set it to stock then adjusted the timing to whatever felt the best.sabat i'll give the gap closing a shot... i have been setting them to the higher end of the acceptable range... gives me more miles for the wear block to wear before i have to adjust them again. so i'll close em up. i have been running with the point

ive got my trusty CB100 which i run all the time. its got 15k on it and its super reliable, and generally runs great. recently its been behaving a little wierd. it seems to be revving out a lot earlier than usual. my reference point is that i can usually rev it about 10% past where it says redline is, then i upshift. yea i rev the piss out of it. recently, when I go WOT to accelerate from a
