Thanks to you too Derek, Sorry they did not have my size.
Gabby, thanks for the ebay info. I had looked there before under motori minarelli and they showed me only ebay stores and none of them had my size. After reading your post I typed minarelli piston rings and it came right up. Thanks. Does it matter if they are FG or L type rings. My piston had the FG type.
thanks ED, I am trying to stay original 49CC if I can. My cyclinder and head are fine and I have a new piston but I am not ruling out your top end if I have to. Let me know what you find monday. Thanks so much for your help. Larry
ED, do you or anyone else have a set of Std.38.7 Minarelli piston rings. Have tried Handybikes, 1977 Mopeds, Mopedwarehouse, and Mopedjunkyard. Dont know where else to look? Helpppppp. Thanks
Thanks for the info. It was very helpful.
does anyone know what FG means in the description of replacement piston rings.
thanks Gabby, I thought that was right but was not sure. I have had a time with this determining what size my oiston was. I dont understand why minarelli would make a 38.7mm along with a 38.8 mmhe same engine. when you convert that to inches you are talking about 0.002 in difference between the two. Crazzzzy. Thanks again for your help.
I am replaceing the piston in my minarelli V1. can anyone tell me if the arrow on the piston goes to the exhaust port or the intake port. I cleaned the carbon from the old piston but cant see an arrow.also my manual says i can compress the new rings by hand to get them in the cyclinder. is this true? i dont want to break them. thanks for any info or tips you might have on this.
Does anyone know if it is possible to replace ign. points with a CDI unit on a Minarelli V1 eng? If so where can I get one? thanks for any info you can give with this.
Doe's anyone know where I can purchase a stock 38.8 MM piston and rings for my Minarelli V1 eng. I ordered a set of rings from HandyBikes but they dont fit. The diameter is right but they are too thick for the ring groove in piston. They were supposed to be Mfg. by Minarelli but I don't think so. Nothing has been changed on this engine. It is all stock from 1979. Help!
Doe's anyone know if threads inside of flywheel made for a puller are right hand or left hand threads. Also what size (27mm) or ?????? Thanks.

After removing right side cover and finding everything looking good I decided to remove engine from bike. When I layed motor on its side I could see a small phillips head screw that had dislodged from mechanism inside behind flywheel. I can see where it goes but have to pull flywheel to screw it back. Dont know what it holds but it had become wedged so as not to let engine turn. After removing scr

think i might have destroyed my clutch? When I engage my start clutch lever I cannot get my pedals to turn. I drained the clutch oil and got about 3 to 4 ounces of oil out. I filled with fresh oil, 16 ounces of 20w like my manual says but still cant get the engine to turn when I engage starter lever. Lever function is working fine. Can anyone help. Had no oil leaks in the past and thought everyth

50:1 with synthetic yamalube or just a good quality 2 cycle oil. Thanks for info about mix and compression.
I just recently purchased an American Triped mfr. in 1979. It has a motori minarelli engine. I was not told the gas and oil mixture, so I called my local scooter dealer and was told I could use the same oil as my honda express (yamalube) at 32:1 so I did! It ran about 2 blocks and died. I have not been able to get it started again. I dont know what size engine it is and have no Specs. at all. I l
