I think the " Off Topic" forum is cool of you to make, and is something I think should stay. It still keeps us as a community together, rather then saying" Don't post OT."People will cruz this section I'm sure, to see what's up.Way to handle the situation! Brent

Just me thinking out loud... I think you would only need 1 clutch,on the drive engine and 1 12v cdi, Using a motorcycle coil with 2 spark plug wires on the left engine.( sitting on the bike)And however you connect the two together, weld or coupler, just make sure the timing for both cylinder strokes will fire, when they need to. Good luck Tim! Brent

I haven't messed with the clutch yet on my kickstart, but have added a light coil to stator, then used a treats cdi on it also. CDI was for a za50, but with coil flipping and drill & tap to relocate the pick-up... no problems. Gonna Polini-ize it after my ride here in Inverness. Good luck with your build.

Chris, My friend that worked at a Safari shop in Lauderdale in the 70's, had dual carbs on a Safari. Minnerelli, heavily ported 50cc cylinder. The carbs were (2) 14/12 Dellorto. The manifold flange at the cylinder could not exceed 17mm for some reason I can't remember. That bike was the second fastest bike in the south, next to the Safari 4 speed in Hollywood.BTW my friends name was Chris

No, you do not have to wire the horn back up for it to work. But be sure to buy/find a voltage regulator, so you can run lights.I plugged the wire( out of the voltage reg) to my old yellow connecting wire for headlights. Then I jumped a wire from that connection( yellow to grey) to the rear lights. I then jumped a wire from second connection, to brake light switches,(Grey to green.)Hope this help

On the upstroke= 1.8mm Before Top Dead Center.

Change your rear gear to a 30th or if you dare 28th. The za pulls it well. Use the Weak-Ends pipe, so when it hits 2nd gear, the pipe will be there for ya. I've ran 18-28 with my za with the best of both worlds. (64mph) My E50 with the same 70cc kit carb & pipe, has to run 18-36, and 55mph. Good Luck! Brent

Brett, I like it, especially 2 1/2" dome caps. A fence company will have 2" - 1 5/8" and 1 3/8".Experiment. Good job!

Jake I really think it is better with the kit , although I havent tried it with something stock. All cylinders that I own, get ported, stock or not. Because this pipe kicks in so late on my kitted ped, I don't think it would work well with stock.Stock ped - boss or somesort of 4PYou really need to figure what your needs are as for setting up your ped. If you are thinking of a kit, you have t

The take off is better with this bottom end being the 3 shoe, versus the reg e50 with the 2 shoe. The za pulled that 18-28 gearing very well. It didn't like hills to much, but did ok at the Hells Satans rally '08.

Jake I'll be honest with you, when I saw this pipe I had to have it cuz it looked so cool. But with my very ported 70cc Airsal, 20mm Delortto carb, and 18-36 gearing, this thing really kicks in best at 50 mph.It is a quiet pipe til you pump up the volume on the RPM's.On the down side, you can't use the normal kickstand and you lose use of your pedals too.But worth the trade off to m

Oh and one other piece of advise... when installing these intake and carb, put the two together, then drop them down onto the studs as one unit.
Brent — 14 years ago
Hi again Jake. Yes you will want the Del 19mm and intake right off the bat! You already have the kit and the pipe. Do it now, so you won't waste your money again. And yes your carb will fit in there. I have the 20mm in there on my ped. You will need to do a mod, to get the air filter to come out to the side a lil' bit with a piece of hose, which will be the tricky part. OR, you could use
