just bumping compression in the V1 literally doubles it torque output in totally stock trim. you can take a full millimeter off the top of the cylinder and are still a good 3-4mm from the piston hitting the plug and a good .5mm from the piston edge coming out of the cylinder. that'll land you with 170-190psi compression with a decent set of rings.that by itself gives some mad lowend for a st

pfft i wan on the minarelli v1's like 2 years ago, and people before me have known for ages. get with the times people! italian stallion!

HID like maybe, but its not HID. HID relies on a ballast to create several thousand volts which heats and vaporizes the metal (mercury or a halide) in the bulb and creates a plasma arc through it from electrode to electrode.your ped mag is NOT making thousands of volts.

thats not a HID bulb, its a 'super white' blue tinted 12v halogen.

get a turbonator and intake tornado.

oh oh, i misread, thought you needed the carb.dude, its been said sooo many times. take the header, flip it, cut it at the flange, reweld it pointing in the correct direction, then cut to length you want. 19mm ID intake is done right there with a nice smooth bend in it, nice cool chromed steel, and for pretty cheap. just use a rubber coupler to connect the carb to intake.

so, was there any luck with the MSD coil?

ebay is where i got mine, new and in a plastic baggie. no smell of gas in it at all, seems to be in just fine shape.hmm i guess that seller is sold out now, i got it for about $70 shipped.
Bitter — 14 years ago
bigger gap is harder to fire, you need a stronger coil or really well tuned ignition system.

32:1 at the least and jet rich. 2 jets richer. you want lots of fuel to lube and cool things.
Bitter — 14 years ago
you can get a 19 phbg on ebay for like $70ish shipped dude.anways, yes a 16 sha will work, we're running a 14! just jet correct, enlarge the emulsion tube holes a little to fatten the mid range.
Bitter — 14 years ago
it doesnt matter, the mix and jetting is far more important.the myth is from WAY back when synth oils were new and some thought they had problems sticking to metal.

the 70cc head has a little larger volume than the stock head, so you need to take a little off the top of the cylinder accordingly. where it shines is that it has a squish band, when you machine the cylinder so the piston comes up to the band as it should, you'll see the performance come back much better.
Bitter — 14 years ago
V1 header works the same as well.

looks like our head, but i asked the seller to measure the stud spacing before i bought so i could confirm it fit.iirc the head you all want is off a minarelli C70 or some such similar 70cc engine.
Bitter — 14 years ago
i added ours, i think. dunno if it saved.

north side? everyone lives on the northside.as long as the fuel line doesnt dip below the carb you'll be ok. that only becomes an issue when you run it dry.
Bitter — 14 years ago
as long as the carb is below the tank, it should be OK.

loose weight, its free speed!

hot enough to keep itself from fouling but cool enough to not melt itself or make a hotspot for detonation.

smaller=more topend.go buy a NOS wheel and it'll come with a sprocket on it.

its not ugly in person, its fucking imposing.its like saying a double barrel 12 ga shotgun is ugly.
Bitter — 14 years ago
well you never said divide! there was 2 multiplies lol. either way, i got it figured. damn, this should push her to about 40 or a little more. nice.now to weld some shit this fall and really let er rip.

i dont want to guess, i want to bench race duh! theres this jersey kid talkin shit.ok, there is no kid. i just want to get an idea to tell the woman before she goes ripping down the street and comes back white as a sheet and scared because she topped out at 45 or something. i'm thinking 40ish?

How do I compute the change in speed when changing gears?example, the V1 does 30mph at 5500rpm with 11 front and 52 rear (4.72 ratio)new gearing is 11 front 42 rear (3.8 ratio), same engine.now, i do suck at math...utterly fail at it most of the time. whats the simple non algebraic way to figure this?
Bitter — 14 years ago
dude, thats the head i posted thats on the engine now. so yea it works.
Bitter — 14 years ago
its in the MRA manual, iirc 38mm and 38.8mm. pretty sure you have a 30mph cylinder.
Bitter — 14 years ago
well i suppose now is time to bring up the much unknown subject of the V1 cylinders.theres 2 basic types, after 77 or 78 it became less distinct.25mph and 30mph25mph was smaller bore with smaller ports30mph was larger bore with larger portsafter 77 or 78 all cylinders had the 30mph bore HOWEVER it seems some have the smaller intake port.good cylinders have a 14mm intake portthe rest have 12mm inta
