I'll let you know. Thanks.
Well I tried multiple gaskets, tried the stock head... Started getting frustrated so I'm putting it away for a few days. Then I might try that Form-a-gasket like Sunset Paul suggested.
I haven't tried 2 gaskets but I'll try it. I was wondering if there was something weird with my hi-comp head. Maybe mines warped too. I'll try the stock head. Did you file the squish band to account for piston clearance?
I've got the ole K Star 70 kit with hi-comp head and I've got air leaks between the cylinder and case and head and cylinder. Intake and exhaust are fine. Its just when I spray the carb cleaner in the cracks between head, cylinder and case it bogs and dies. Running a base gasket and head gasket. Have a cheap torque wrench. 15 bing with 86 jet. boss pipe. Plug is half brown half sort of wh
Make sure that carb isn't leaking at all. If it is, it will run like crap no matter what you do. Get a new float bowl gasket and maybe a new float needle. Hand tighten the bowl, but don't over tighten it and strip the threads.
So I picked up some Hondabond today. It was like $18 though. Ouch!
Are these all just as good as each other or is hondabond/yamabond better than motoseal 1 which is better than ultra grey? Thanks so much for everyones input.
I'm rebuilding my E50 and I'm to the point where I need to put my case halves back together. I know the wiki suggests yamabond. What does everyone else use? Has anyone tried Permatex ultra copper?
"Pussy break-ins cause lazy pistons!"Ha ha. Quote of the day right there.
I don't have a flywheel puller and everyone is out it seems. I was going to pick up a 3 jaw puller for some other stuff. Has anyone used it to pull their flywheel? Is it a bad idea? Am I asking for trouble?
I wonder if you're losing compression if that head isn't tightened down enough on that stripped stud and that's where you're losing low end?
Would you say this kit or the Airsal is a better choice? Or is it just personal preference?
You can get pretty cheap tap sets at Schucks. Its like $7 or $8 I think for sets that have like 4 different size taps and a T handle.
How might one go about fixing that?
Will an NGK B4HS work just as well?
The plug wasn't in all the way. The ring where the threads are was screwed about half way up the shaft. I will get the right plug though. Thanks
Hi, I have a 1977 Puch Maxi that I have been trying to get running a little better. It has this clanking noise when idling and at low speeds and tops out around 25 or so. The thing is is that when I got it it was missing the air filter and float needle. Today I made an air filter from a water bottle and some nylons and that helped some, as it wouldn't idle before. Still need to pick up th
Do you have brake light function with that tail light? Sweet bike.
This bike is still available if anyone near Seattle is interested. I do have the title now and it has collector plates, so I'd stay firm on the price. Anyway, just thought I'd throw that out there. Let me know if you are interested. Thanks.
You owe him a huge what? J/K Glad it was found.
Hi McKenzie and Marcel, you have e-mail.
Ha, thanks for pointing that out. I should have paid more attention when I put them on. The bike behind it is the wife's c70.
50cc 1964 Honda CA110. $800 OBO. Runs well. Fresh gas and oil. New rubber foot pegs, brake light switch, cables, tank badges, petcock, gas cap gasket, front tire, (new rear tire included but not mounted yet), recently Kreemed tank. Speedo doesn't work but is probably an easy fix. Only a few small parts missing. Front fender, kick start, and clutch cover are here even though they are not in th

I fit a Honda C70 in the back of my Toyota Matrix before. Good times.
You might check out the Yahoo Groups for that specific model. I know some people here own them, but you'd probably find a great wealth of info over there. Not trying to blow you off, just point you in a direction.
Sweet! Congrats. You should post up a pic.
Yeah, I'm curious what you think of it. Let us know if it's cool or if it sucks or whatever.
Has anyone tried making their own brass clutch bushing? I'm getting tired of waiting for these to get back in stock and was thinking if I could find the right size pipe maybe I could just make my own. How hard could it be right?
