you should just to break the glazing and to get a nice cross hatchso the new rings will seat right. you can get a small engine hone at most auto stores, and get a least 2"stones the smaller ones will get into the port openings
Are we talking about the starter and it windings, or are we talking about the electrical coil.
The direction that came with my new battery said charge at no more than 2 Amps untill the specific graverty of the electorlyte rises to higher than 1.270 A faster rate will shorting the life of your new battery
take out your spark plug, amd tell us what the tip looks likebone white, light tan, or black oily, and what type plug are you using
I got new brake shoes from bikebandit.com. there site only list the rear. But both the front and rear are the same. I had to sand the leading edges a little bit to get the hub back on.

If you don't have a batt in you will blow the head light $40.00 &the tail light $3.00 and the high beam indecator, spend the $15.00 and get a new bat
I use an impact wrench either air or electric, I dont't know if a hand one will work, I've never had any luck just useing a wrench
I thought we were talking carb kits, the one I have here KH0948replacement for nu50 nc50 nx50. PA03 Kelhn carb.
the nc50 uses a kelhin carb PAo3, the express has a PAo8bthe nc has a screw in jet,the express has a pressed in jet.the carb used on the nc50 was also used nu50 & nx50

the NC 50 and the NA50 are two different carbs, about the only thing the same is the float needle. If you need a gasket set for the na50 you can get that at moped warehouse Honda part# 16010-147-004
I know both a 1043 & 1157 12volt bulbs would work, but I like to keep these old bike's stock .
1154 bulb for the tail-stop light 6 volt. I just got some and had to buy a box of 10 at $3.50 each
check the vent in your fuel cap. the volume of gas going through the line should be great enough to prevent air from being sucked in at the petcork
You have overfilled the transmission, drain it all out and put in ONLY 300 cm (0.26 IMP. qt) sae 10/30 oil. Your spark plug should be an NGK BP4HS gapped at 28

the float usually does not go bad on these. charnces are you need a new needle. 1978-83 nc50, 1979-81 na50, 1979-99 z50R.1981-82 nx50m, 1982-83 nu50, 1983-84 nb50m as well as several others use the same float kit. Honda OEM part#16013-147-004 I think keyster still makes a carb kit that has all the parts to rebuild these
Rear is easy, the front a little harder , not bad though. Had to tapper the end on the new shoes a little.
the carb for and nc50 and the carb for a na 50 are two different carbs at least on my 1979. one is a pa03 and the other a pa08b
two thiings come to mind (1) starving for fuel, unhook fuel line at carb and look for a steady stream of fuel. the petcork and the vent in the fuel cap are known for pluging. (2) you could have back pressure from a dirty muffler, put in on a hot fire and burn it out, also check your air filter. Is your cable still there for the chokeI'd get that fixed if it was me
at what cycle did you use on the ultransonic part's cleaner. Remember that the higher the cycle the harsher the clean, and the type of solvent really has an effect. to strong of a solvent could etch into the carb seats
if I remember right, the first 3 digits identify the model. this is folled by a dash, Engine identification follows the same code as frame. So if you had something like JYA_5u900--------- You would have a J model, then you could look on yamaha web site to see what year they made that.

take the tube out, you should have a opening 1/8 or larger, then use a punch. or something, you can NOT drive the tube in, it is a press fit/
is this a mikuni carb, is the screw on the cable end, or the bowl end, the little brass pick up tube is a press fit and can be removed . just grab it as close to the base with ply. and give a pull, this will give ypu a bigger opening, then you can use a small punch, nail elect, to put the tube back in just give it a light tape,
use an impack wrench, air, electric , or even a hand one. that will usually start them ,then you can take them off by hand

If you have two drill it out, try using left handed drill bits, I've had really good results by using these on broken bolts.
Randy The expasion ring is a very thin piece of metal. It is very hard to see sometimes. but if you ever used a grove cleaner you would have found it. it looks like it is part of the grove, sometimes with a needle you can find the ends. It comes standard with a set of yamaha rings
