Hey im joe (guy in the honda prelude), a retired member of the boston khz. Sorry I cut you off today in everett on rt 99. I knew you were behind me i just didnt know you gained on me and were coming up on my left. thanks for being understanding when i said sorry. I feel like a complete idiot considering i have a check twice save a life sticker and lost a friend to a motorcycle accident this year
ben you soft seized with a 93 didnt you? that 93 i borrowed from you didnt make my bike run any better i dont think then i threw on the malossi 90 degree filter and it still ran like shit. i cant believe youve got a 89 in there and arent worried about soft seizing. on some real shit i needa buy jets from the mid 80s all the way up the mid 90s but i plan on moving soon
can you do anyhthing like this on a piston port metra?
ive got the same problem. right now my setup isbig port metra21mm phbgi dunno what idle jet but ive got a 96 main jet in there.no filter just the velocity stack that came with ithomoet8pit bogs off the line and WICKED slow up hills. when i had the same jetting but with a biturbo the thing could have towed boats but it was rich on the topend and topped at 35 4 stroking.oh yeah my bike runs better a
graham! havent heard from your in a while! so what happens if i do make a LONG intake on my bike?
i dont think so. its up to him im just kinda helping him put it together. i dont know too much of polinis though. i bet we're probably doing the stock setup
This is for a 2 stroke. A 4 stroke the constant would be 84,000 instead of 42,000 This will get you real close to your target rpm without getting into temperatures and such.N x L = 42,000, where N represents the desired engine rpm to tune for and L is the length in inches from the opening of the ram tube to the reed valve or end of the intake port. "Let's say you're running an engin
he plans on running a polini.
i was at the motorcycle store today and they make a wire alarm for motorcycle covers. basicallywhen the cover coms off the alarm does too.one thing you could do is discreetly wire a unit with a trip wire that goes around whatever you are locking it to. so when the wire unplugs an alarm goes off. if you really wanna get fancy you can go wireless and have it send somethign to your keychain telling y
http://www.hpi.be/cdi.htmhpi makes performance cdis those high revving puchs use.this cdi box is pretty muchthe same concept i dunno if it has the throttle position wiring and stuff but its also programmable.http://www.hpi.be/mesonix.htmand this is a really cool standalone ignition that relys on your points only as a trigger and takes care of the rest in this little unit. only problem is the whole

awesome! now i know i should be jetting in the mid 80s. thanks for setting this u[
my magura sliding type doesnt pull the carb open all the way. before i shell out some dough i do have access to the twist type with the little end thingie. do those open all the way?
ahh shiz im stupid sorry for wasting thread space. theres already a topic on this and the answer is to get the one on 1977 mopeds with the 31mm pull.
i noticed on my magnum throttle it wont open the 21mm phbg all the way up. if i tug on the cable i still get about 2-3mm of slide going up untill it hits the top. can this be the source of my problems? is this why i can never get it tuned right? of so what throttle grips do you suggest i should go with?
great job matthew looks awesome! all is left is to get it flat and port it out right?
how do you get an accurate timing with such a crude system?
tell me does the gilardoni have crazy low end torque like the metra?
i dunno i think its 4 stroking. right now i think the stator is right about in the middle. i wish there was an accurate way to set timing. i think it might need to be advance to cope with higher speeds
yeah sounds like four stroke. doesnt go faster when i back down though. and only cuts out at 35 mph. so what i do is full throttle build up to 35mph then it starts to pop so i let off. then throttle up again at 35mph. i changed the plug today it looked ok. but then again im not holding it at wot. i honestly think its a jetting issue i dunno. but it cuts out according to speed not throttle position
i think im running higher than 86 and it might be rich
its got a 21mm dellorto. when i gun the throttle it accelerates awesome up to 35mph or so it says on the speedo and then starts popping. even whe n iback down on the throttle it doesnt go faster. so im on and off the throttle around 35mph. does anyone think this is a timing issue?
how do you press them in and out? do you need to rebalance them? i would like to know cause i dont trust my con rod bearing with my kit but nobody makes a racing crank for a za-50
its not that flexible. the hose actually got stiffer over time with the gasoline running through. but no leaks as far as i can see. that carb bowl actually sits on the engine
!http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v326/wontonpillsbury/moped/?action=view¤t=DSC03468.jpg!thats radiator hose with the intake that comes with the kit.
update. i know i said i thought i was running too lean. i ran a 96 jet with the malossi filter and it still doesnt wanna run at full throttle but it runs much better than before. the needle was as low as possible and i lifted it up a notch and it ran even worse so im guessing i can go one jet smaller.
