yes it's pointing up..that's the first thing i thought of so i pulled the carb off and checked it. it was the proper direction. i don't know, it's like the gas is just running right through. i put the carb together exactly how i took it apart(except it was more clean. the fuel seems to be coming out of the main port and going directly into the air filter. it's strange,beca
i thought i'd spend the day cleaning out my carbs (1970 mobylette)cleaned them out as they needed. now its spitting gas relentlessly and only runs at full throttle. when i kill it it just keeps flowin', it still is right now....what have i done....b

twice now only after a couple hours of riding on the new gasket and just upon restarting the engine, some darker smoke will exit the exaust then total decompression. i'll turn the flywheel easily with my hand and can actually feel where the air is escaping from. upon further inspection i am able to see the empty space where gasket used to be.
thanks joew, bolts aren't stripped and the head is as straight as an arrow.thanks for the gasket tips. also i've heard if the muffler is clogging that it may affect the gasket and piston performance.....b
my 1970 mobylette keeps blowing a head gasket.is there a factory gasket or should i make my own?where can i find a aftermarket/factory gasket?
