Base gasket was on the cylinder, I just put red rtv cause I saw it on a yt video and just did it cause couldn't hurt loll
Unlike the 30 minutes this took him it has taken me multiple hours and now I have it off. Thank all of you!
OK this makes a lot of sense I haven't gotten to actually take a shot at it but it makes sense that the bolt would move left and right but not come out, I didn't know that the exhaust bolts go next to the studs.
Yeah the intake clears frame, I'll try that thank you.
Wanted to take off my cylinder to check piston and some other things but can’t seem to get it off, it is clearly able to move on the top and left side but on right and bottom is completely stuck. Anyone got any tips on getting it off? I’ve tried heat, and all my weight. Also the bottom right stud does not wanna come off no matter how much I tighten both nuts if that might somehow pertain to this
I rebuilt the bottom end new crank, new bearings, and seals so idk...
well it seems that my squish is completely different from what I thought I had it as at first when I first built it from what it said was 1.2 (must've measured wrong somehow) I guess it somehow grew to 2.5 since then looks like I'm in for a countersunk head to to get it decked and figure out if its piston slap or piston skirt hitting the crank
Yeah, I had realized it wasn't detonation pretty quick after I posted but can't delete a post so whatever, yeah new kit
Got the bike back together before I go on vacation and got some interesting sounds coming from the engine I don't think this is what it is supposed to sound like is it detonation idk. I set it at 18 degrees so I might retard it to 14 just to see if that does anything when I get back. If it is detonation what would the cause be?
I believe that the dark blue cable goes into the 3rd terminal where the black one is.https://www.mopedarmy.com/w/images/b/bd/1978_Puch_Magnum_XK_Wiring_Diagram.pdfIn this diagram it has a blue cable going into the same terminal. Also I wired a magnum today and they were connected without me touching it.
Put my order in for my magnum last night after putting it off making sure I got all the parts I need and maybe waiting for a sale and boom look at that 15% sale what ever there are a couple more parts I might as well buy.

Okay put my treats order in after research and just figuring out what parts I need to replace while cleaning but I am wondering if I will need to modify the throttle to work with the vm20? and if so how would I need to do that.
So I was riding my bullet tt down a hill full beans and it died and slowed the bike down a lot kicked it over started right back up, so I decided to go home to see what the problem was, on the way home on flat ground this time it did the same and would not start until cool and even when it did start up would not idle. I think it was a soft seize but I am confused about the braking. Since new pa
I saw you in the thread about the Approved Moped List that doesn't exist anymore and Ohio laws mean 50cc, pedals, 20mph max. And because you don't have a license and can't get a moped license go get a bike or something, you can offroad with one of those.
oh yeah I love Devo, grew up listening to them as kid because of my dad, pretty sure he still has all of the albums he had but idk, and hopefully they get into the hall of fame
I took a look into the reed kit and I thought about this setup, Treats 70cc Reed kit, Hi hi comp head, Malossi 4 petal, mlm intake, vm20, estoril side bleed, and stuffy crank. Could I achieve the same with the PP Treats kit with head, with bing 15mm, estoril side bleed, stuffy crank, with just a lower top speed. But similar bottom end or would the reed kit be a significant upgrade on the bottom
Ok hit a roadblock when looking for reeds, because I decided that I would go with the treats 70cc reed kit, should I get the Malossi 4 petal reeds, or something like an athena reed, that would go on something like a tomos a35
Yeah the whack in the gas tank is kinda sad but I think it'll turn out good.I'll take a look into that kit and see what I can come up with. Thanks.
Thank you will take a look into that!
I just got this 1 owner puch magnum xk for around $50 but its seized and is gonna need some work. Since it is seized I want to put a 70cc kit but I have only worked with basically stock Tomos bikes and have no clue where to start. I want to go around 45mph but not be a complete slug off the line if anyone could help me out with a setup would be appreciated. Hopefully the Ohio salt won't ma
